Canberra weather looks the worst now - 60% chance of rain from 8pm friday. 25% chance of more than 6mm of rain.

Carey WKs gonna get a huge advantage over Buttler WKs. I'm considering bailing on going Ludeman or Whiteman/Inglis.... Dammit

I have Buttler and Carey... Would you move Buttler on?

So is it worth gambling against the weather, picking Marsh, and making him captain? Could be a great POD play

Perhaps look at the forecast and make your own call but my thoughts are that Canberra and GC are big chances of being completely washed out. Sydney might be lucky to get a reduced overs game.

Weather is fickle though so it's your own call.

On my phone so couldn't post but I'm seeing 90% chance of rain at the wrong times for GC and Canberra on the overview. 40-60% on the detailed version.

Sydney showing 70% morning/early afternoon on the overview. Still possible it rains into late afternoon. Hopefully they can still play a game even if it goes later into the night as it's a 3:30 pm time slot.

Re the Vc debate, I vc'd Carey and I’m grabbing it, it's not huge risk this week for a few reasons:

- It's week one, game one so you don’t have to worry about trades yet.
- You’re probably starting plenty of Scorchers DGR players who will all play next round so you don’t need to worry about trading them out.
- The next round is only a DGR for the Strikers so if you’ve pre-empted that by starting a few this week (as I have) then it's a no-brainer to trade out your non playing players for Strikers next round in their DGR.
- You've gotta remember that scores in this format fluctuate wildly from the averages at times so it's still easy for a quality DGR player to score a couple of 30's, a lot of it comes down to luck, eg who bats first, how the opposition fares, catching opportunities. Grab the 130's and run if you can.

I’d definitely think a lot harder about it after round one and how it was going to affect my planning/trades.

So it’s Sixers v scorchers looking best, thunder v Stars (Canberra) and heat v hurricanes (Metricon) looking bad.

Makes we want to stack my team with scorchers knowing we’ll get at least 1 full game + whatever Sydney brings.

That’s the best approach I reckon Idig, do that and then start praying to the Queensland monsoon gods.

Actually I’m not looking too bad. I can start Shinwari instead of Lamichhane and turn Henriques into Qadir or Klinger, which I’m totally fine with.

That's my train of thought too and I've only been playing around with combinations of tonights game since early today. The weather has me spooked and played a big part in my decision to bypass Brisbane.
I really like some Gades picks...Nabi, Christian, Wildermuth I see as being very well priced for DP players and Shinwari may be a tournament gift. I'm only a little disappointed that I've missed the obvious Pattinson, but thats cricket.
I see my team as really well set for next week with 4 strong Adelaide selections, and I am probably looking at Short to become my 5th.
Setting up my bench I have looked towards GW3, notably Henriques, Edwards and 1 of McDermott/Wade as WK2 to give myself flexibility on Carey's bye.
