Riddle me this.

England have lost two games and had another rained out. But all they have to do is beat USA by just about any margin and they are guaranteed progress. (I think about 10 runs covers all possible scenarios.)

Meanwhile the loser of 5-1 West Indies and 6-0 South Africa goes home.

Make it make sense.

…because home and away victories don’t count in finals…

Group stage doesn't carry over to Super 8s.

Yeah, well aware - just seems like between weird scenarios like this and the talk of Australia allowing Scotland through, carrying the points from the relevant group game through would immediately improve the format.

Alternatively, it would only add one more week to have the entire Super 8 play each other a la 2007...

Given that organisations make viewing difficult, as they seek money over eyeballs through media deals, they make the whole competition almost irrelevant.

If this competition was readily available on FTV, or even Foxtel, we would have a dedicated thread. Alas, it's a streaming service, and therefore, only the tech savvy have access and of those only if that are members.

Like Rugby Australia and the A League, the results quickly manifest themselves.

Hope their game against USA gets washed out and the WI win their game.

Sadly this is very true. Australia has the chance to hold titles across all three formats simultaneously. I don’t believe that has happened before, and it may be a long time until any other country achieves it.

Despite that, outside of this site, and my prompting, I haven’t heard a single person talk about the tournament even once.
