But a fit bock is an a very unlikely bock. He hasn't played a full season since 2008. It is a big ask seeing as bock's first game of the season was in round 19, scored a 2 in round 20 and didn't play the rest of the year (2013). It is a big IF HE IS FIT and a few question marks behind that statement.
Only need him to play the first 8 or so games to make some good cash out of him. Also I think the missed games are more due to suspension than anything else (prior to the broken leg that is).

If Bock has a good pre season and shows a bit in the NAB, we'd be silly to not pick him.

There's a very very small chance we could get a keeper for sub 200k, however unlikely it is.

Was a top 10 defender in 2011 if I remember right? There's also a chance he has become SC irrelevant though as I don't think he will score well as a fwd. All speculation until we get to see him play at this point though.

Maybe his old girl gave him some super pills and we'll see a 110 avg ;)

In 2009 he averaged 100/game, which made him the 2nd highest Def on averages, but only played 14 games, so he was way down on the aggregate table.
In 2008 he averaged 90/game, which placed him 18th on the Def average table. His 22 games got him to 10th on the aggregate table.
2008/9 was a long time ago, and he really looked a long way off the pace in his only appearance last season.
Not for me, too high risk! :)

That's why we love you Rowsus. Hard to argue with those figures really.

Good case of hunting for bargains where there are none I think. I do remember him being an exceptional player however.

Was having a look at who I'd probably start with in defence and noticed that Brisbane face Hawks and Cats in the first two rounds and The dockers and the cats in the last two.. Meaning Hanley could drop off after the first couple of rounds.

No sure if this has been posted...

Haven't already herad? Brendan Goddard will be a midfielder only in 2014, however Sam Mitchell and Luke Hodge gain DEF/MID status next season.
It came from a SC designated page and not DT so I presume it is SC.
Don't take my word for it though :)

If Sam Mitchell got DPP status this year, I probably would've considered picking him. But, at the moment if it's true, I'm not considering it for next year.

It was on the DT article on the afl website so I'd presume that that is where they got their info. Also, McVeigh is getting Def/Mid DPP in DT.

I'm gonna avoid him as well. Hodge too.

Mitchell, McVeigh and Hodge is says all will have DPP DEF/MID.
TBH I'm with you guys, I will most likely give them all a miss, hopefully made Simpson gets DPP. He is the one guy I am strongly considering.

Yeah im on the lock side of this one

Hodgey not so much as we all know his history.

Mitchell has only averaged less than 100 once in the last nine years and he has only missed ten games in that time. In a defender that equals lock if you ask me.

McVeigh has only missed six games in eight years and is coming off a 105 average. Also lock.

Im not seeing the reasons those 2 would be avoided? Especially with Goddard losing DPP.

Yup, DT pricing but positions should be same for SC
Looks like it's not long now...maybe in a few days? maybe tomorrow we will get the long awaited news about 2014 rules, positions and pricing.
The top 10 draftees starting price in DT is over the roof although this is not confirmed.

It was on the DT article on the afl website so I'd presume that that is where they got their info. Also, McVeigh is getting Def/Mid DPP in DT.

McVeigh I'm still considering......I might just go for Gibbs instead...been picking him every single year so why not keep that tradition.

Gibbs has to reward the faith one day! And the year you don't pick him...

My thoughts exactly. Mitchell will 100% be a lock for me. McVeigh very close to depending on who else keeps/gains defender status. Would need to see some kind of a pre season from Hodge to consider him though.

Very excited to see this positional stuff starting to filter through.

Definitely agree here. One big turn off could be their prices though.
