And just like that the Alonso doubt creeps back in😂
Yep, Alonso is a bad pick. Everyone stay away! ;)

I traded Shaw to him after Rd 2, as I thought Shaw was going to drop a lot of cash after starting 3,6 and Alonso had gone 28,18. It was actually looking like a pretty bad trade until this last round (27 from Alonso). Shaw has scored 40 pts and gone UP $810K in value in those three matches, Alonso 41 and $2M, but only scored 14 in the first two I had him for.

Can anyone provide me with Alex McCarthys BE?

Really warming to him. Conceded 3 against Everton and 2 against Newcastle, but only 1 against United and 2 consecutive CS’s against West Ham and City. Some good long term fixturing to come outside next weeks trip to Stamford Bridge.

I think most importantly this gets me my preferred target in Alonso.
Macca is -6. 3/4 home games and then away to CHE in the 4th. A good run of fixtures.

I've just been there too many times. A CS away to City, whilst WOL lose at home.
Get lulled into a false sense of security, and then *BAM!*, WOL win 2-0 away.

But if you must 'warm' to him like a moth to the flame, then don't fight fate. :D

I think the fixtures in Sportal are wrong.
FPL site showing CHE & United kickoff first at 9.30pm.
Sportal site showing only CHE kickoff early.
Just read this
The decision to move United’s fixture comes at the request of the Trafford Council Safety Advisory Group amid safety concerns for fans.
And the reason for that is Manchester band The Courteeners will be playing a concert at Old Trafford cricket ground in the evening.

What is the general view on Ronaldo? Grab him now before he potentially smashes a 25 pointer on Villa or wait but maybe pay more later??

What is everyone doing?

If not Ronaldo, Kane???

Gotta love the old Ford Courteeners. Who da thunk they'd cough up Bruno as a vice option?

In all seriousness I get the value thing. But it’s also the reliable captaincy he will provide.
He could have had 3 against West Ham. Should have scored early in the 2nd half. Missed out on a late penalty chance not going his way.
If he got 3, even a brace, everyone would be moving heaven and earth to get him.

You know it was a dive. He should have got a red and been crucified. :D

The reality is, he will score about 25 goals this season. He's not the player he was. His stats in Italy showed he was a flat track bully.

There's no doubt to have an eye on him, but $15.5m is way too much, especially when Antonio is being overlooked, and his ceiling is much higher with his misc pts.

Then there's Kane, who will also score almost as many goals. He hasn't started yet, and will catch up, and is half the price.

There's a heap of good captaincy options. The way DEF are scoring with their high ceilings, you should be looking there.
I'm sure when we look back at easy matchups, there's one of two DEF that got a huge score that week.
It might not feel right, but if the stats say it's right, then follow the stats.

He seems overpriced. He almost surely will be available cheaper at some stage. He also looks like he will get some good scores in a strong team.

I felt I would struggle last round in the forwards with Antonio missing and decided to trade him to Ronaldo, rather than Lukaku, mainly to differentiate my team a bit, as I could afford it. I also had Sarr up forward who was not scoring well and who I mainly held due to them playing NOR (he scored 25). I did strongly consider keeping Antonio, but if I did I probably would have traded someone like Mbeumo instead who scored well, so can't complain in the short term.

I disagree with the reliable captain comment - Ronaldo will have low scoring games just like any forward. I'm just hoping he doesn't have many of them before everyone else jumps on. :p

I'm not sure about Kane, I'm not touching him yet, half of his points (7/14) have just been from showing up so far and he will drop more cash. If he hits some form, I'll consider trading Sarr to him in a couple of weeks time before the 'Pool match, depending on how Sarr does in his next games against NEW and LEE but not convinced it's a good move.
