Have we decided on a platform to use? I'm not sure I want to run two concurrently under different rule sets...

I'll be entering both as I'm keen to see how the F1 Fantasy one works, but as there are already a few people who have been using the Sportsdeck version I'd be happy to go with that one as our 'offical' comp.
Sportsdeck Dreamteam F1 is now open.
I've created a league : SCS Racing
Code : 198577
Link : https://sportsdeck.com/au/f1/dreamteam/#/?action=join-league&code=198577

I'll still be in the F1 Fantasy comp if anyone wants to try that as well, details in the first post.
I think we are running with the Sportsdeck one as the main comp, so I jumped into that.

Moto GP also starts this weekend
Moto GP was a good, close season last year from the races I saw, I think that would be a tough one to do well in though, as there's a lot of consistent riders in with a chance each race. I might look into that one as well, doubt I'll spend much time on it, thanks for pointing out it is starting too.

I think most people who have played before had used the Sportsdeck platform, and everyone who's interested has joined that one.
It's also the one I've prefixed with SCS.

Just wanted to drop this here for all of you so nobody makes the same mistake I nearly did... The way I'm reading it it doesn't make any sense to pick two of the same car?

Honestly I'm struggling to come up with any real strategy here other than Yuki is likely to be insane value compared to the rest of the field...

Without knowing anything about how the game works I'd suggest McLaren clearly has the third best car making Lando good value this weekend. Yuki as you said very good value. Then I'd guess you'd want to pick Max over Lewis if he is cheaper cos those cars seem neck and neck

No idea what I am doing and would appreciate any suggestions or tips, as this is my 1st time playing this format and I rarely watch F1.

Not sure what I'm doing either, but my take on this is:

1. There are Drivers & Cars. Each team has 2 cars
2. You can only choose a driver once, but you can choose a car twice, as each team has 2 cars.
ie you could choose McLaren cars twice and Ferrari twice. this gives you 4 cars.
3. Each car you choose from a team gives the combined score for both cars in the team. ie (Car A + Car B)
If you choose two of the same car you get the combined score twice ie (Car A + Car B) + (Car A + Car B)

Hope I,m reading it correctly.

Yep. That is correct.
EG..If you choose one Mercedes and they get 1st and 2nd you get the total from both cars.
If you pick them twice you get the 1st and 2nd again.
