Since 2017:
I Heeney with L Franklin: 97.11 from 45 (11/45 below 80, 22/45 below 100, 10/45 120+)
I Heeney without L Franklin: 93.88 from 16 (6/16 below 80, 11/16 below 100, 1/16 120+)

Brilliant! Clear correlation! I recall Heeney played injured early season 2019 so had some lower scores even when Buddy played. I know many hate excluding scores from averages but in my mind Heeney has slightly more upside as a result.

Looks very much like Smith is preferred over Steven at this early stage , if he is 100% for Round 1 , hard to go past him.

I am liking Martin , X , Lynch , Smith at this stage with Whitfield in my mids.

Depending on final rookies and $$$ remaining , could even end up going 3-2-3 up forward.

Yes, a fair bit relies on rookies. With forward rookies the worst scoring of the lot, so a 3-2-3 structure could work quite well. I do like the Lynch pick and have him on my radar, that's not bias just from watching how the team looks when he plays up the ground and when he's Fwd 50 even with Jack, getting a pre-season under his belt can't hurt either.

Yes, a fair bit relies on rookies. With forward rookies the worst scoring of the lot, so a 3-2-3 structure could work quite well. Ultimately our entire structures and starting teams will come down to the rookies being named and in what position to be selected.

Names I have seen so far include Bonar * , Hill * , Flanders * , Pickett , Cockatoo * , Brander * , Cavarra (again) , Cameron * , King & Rankine.

Weightman could also be close.

No idea how many of them will be named Round 1 or what their scoring potential or JS will be like , I am sure the great coaches have spreadsheets with Best 22 , injury returns , training reports etc etc already mapped out.

Hard part now is waiting for Round 1 , everything is all speculation until then.

How about Dollhouse? Last year played 21 and averaged 85 with 7 over 100. Plenty of low sores as well though ?
I don’t know whether he will have the same role in 2020, but I wonder whether he might get a bit more midfield time with the departure of Kelly? Also, is the arrival of Steven likely to result in him spending less time as a Fwd and more time in the mids? Just idle speculation from me at this stage, but would be interested if anyone has a knowledgeable opinion on this possibility.

Scope out a POD?? This rarely ends well.
If you are genuinely keen on someone who’s not overly popular, great, back your instinct and go for it. But don’t ever pick someone or choose one over another just based purely on the fact they aren’t a popular pick.
