The lack of solid rookies makes it difficult. Curtis Taylor looks like the only one worth playing on the ground. You would then be picking 5 fully priced forwards on a line that is very difficult to predict. It has been done in the past but tough to get right.
Wouldn't Brander also be a option if we get 2 cheaper defenders for our bench eg Watson , Williams , McLennan , Gould

I guess the big unknown is what Rankine can actually produce

Is there any chance of going really well with out picking mid pricers like Steven and smith f3/f4 as they might not be top 6 fwds so many options
You risk overpaying for alternatives and will end up behind at the end if those 2 players work out/become keepers. Depends though on your own structure - what are you looking at?

Anyone think Ben Long is worth a punt ? Bit expensive ($283,000)but scored 64 (Haw)and 85 (Coll)in M1+2,just wary having 2 forward rookies on field
Similar price bracket with Jack Lukosius @$274,600 but is DPP

Anyone else have any love for Jack Martin? 420k, 5% ownership with a fresh start at new club.

Scored 75SC from 45%TOG in game 1 and 78SC in 68%TOG game 2

Could become a great POD, can also seeing him getting a decent run through the midfield as well. Think I will take a punt on him and if all fails will jump ship across to Petracca

It's good you have bail out options (Petracca, Steven, Brayshaw, Lynch, Devon - if any of them fire and you don't have them etc)

I'd love to pick him and feel he will do well with us. Not sure he can get to 95 average though with 82 being his best season.

I hope he fulfills his potential and talent at Carlton, too risky for me to start him considering he has played predominately across the half forward line throughout the pre-season (despite scoring very well) but if he starts scoring tons consecutively, then I'll jump on. Really barracking hard for him to succeed with the Blues.

MacPherson interesting:

Marsh 1: 18K, 13HB, 6FF 0FA, 14CP 134SC
Marsh 2: 16K, 15HB, 2FF 0FA, 16CP 127SC

Couldn't ask for a better 2 hitouts.

Someone mentioned he had very few CBAs? Not sure.
Those free kicks may have inflated his score but those CPs look good to off set that a bit.
Could become a very, very good player and SC scorer.
But I've got enough risks atm so probably won't find a spot for him in my team.

North Melb.
Is he around the stoppages at non CBAs? A lot of CPs would suggest so.
To my eyes, the ball was played in his half of the ground more so than usual hence his higher possession count. I definitely see natural development and he's a hard worker without the ball, however, my fear is can he still score in that HFF role when the Suns drops off and are not winning games?

I like him as a prospect but not confident that there's midfield time for him with their current setup. I still have unanswered questions so won't start him for that reason. For those that do, you'll be comforted that there's plenty of bail out options if he proves to be a bust.

Still doing a lot of flip-flopping between Brayshaw and Petracca up forward. I have Petracca right now with a 102k R3 (can't afford the more expensive options).

If a playing R3 is selected on Thursday night I think i'll downgrade Trac to Brayshaw for the funds.

Anyone have any solid thoughts on Petracca vs Brayshaw this season? Both players topping their teams CBA's over both Marsh games looks promising to me.

I think they are decent picks but not sure if they are great picks. They both have the same bye so maybe the $60k difference helps make a decision. Zerrett did well with the absence of the other Essendon mids. Fyfe broke out when Freo had injuries to mids years ago. Brayshaw looks like he might have the same opportunity given Freo's terrible midfield.

I've had him all preseason, but removed him after M2. He could be a great Pod and I could still bring him back, but he was interviewed at half time of M2 and was absolutely spent, got me thinking that he may not have the tank and may be a 70 - 75% tog player.
