I have a feeling Tom Mitchell might be back for the Swans next game..

Tom Mitchell vs Eastlake:

64 disposals (50 effective)
24 contested possessions
12 clearances
14 inside 50s
22 score involvements
4 goals
4 assists
‪269 supercoach points
Bloody Hell, couldn't do that the first week he dropped back could he?

He's in my, "no way I'm not picking him next year" catergory. Is simply too talented not to breakout.

lol? Might make a good, high ceiling F7 later in the year :D
Or next year, reckon I'll be forced to pick him next year despite the 3rd degree burns he left me with.
Not everyone scores 270 supercoach points when their 20.

So Andrew Demetriou claimed the MCC is behind the times and slow on the uptake.

This from the guy who agreed to the last media deal that allows channel 7 to show footy in Standard Definition, not HD!!!!!

Channel 7 gives me the ****es how they show it in SD. What's even more annoying is watching Fox footy in HD and they show the channel 7 broadcast which clearly (or should that be UNclearly?!) is SD.

Just quietly, is there anything more glorious than that first sip of ice cold beer at the end of the working week?

Sitting down on the couch on a Friday night like tonight in front of the telly as the opening bounce is about to happen, kids in bed, pizza box open, beer open, Ipad on SCS website.....

Comes pretty close ;)

Yeah, being at the G in a packed house sipping a nice ice cold beer with mates before a Carlton v Essendon game where both teams have won over 10 games in a row and you have no doubt the two best teams for the year are about the battle it out and you cannot wait.

Yeah, I know. But I remember how huge a build up it was.

Not sure I seen a season before like it. If I remember correctly we won about 13 in a row that season and Essendon 20. We were both winning our games by an average of around 10 goals. No other clubs were really getting near them.
That Friday night we must have been on 13 in a row I guess and started off ok until one of the Johnson's for Essendon caused an accident with Kouta, whom was on absolute fire that season, it stuffed his knee up and I think SOS got injured too but not that night so season hopes kind of wrecked there and we never recovered from our major injuries that happened in last part of season, so Essendon went on with no real challenger, but Footscray famously beat them for only loss for season and they ended up playing Melbourne in Grand Final which was an anti-climax as Dees were not really a top two team but they made it.

However before that Friday night, before Kouta got injured in the game it was a massive build up to a Friday night clash like I never seen before. Was an absolute buzz around the G and could not wait. Really bitter end to get such a major injury to our in form player. Our season hopes basically killed there and then despite the season still having 7 or so weeks to go until Grand Final.
You don't get a Friday night any bigger than that.
90,000 at the G and both clubs were on the march and we are talking the two clubs with most premierships so it does not get any bigger than that, when you both premiership contenders and the title of most premierships in the league is right up for grabs in coming months.

Since that season both clubs been stuck on 16 premierships as most in the league and the 17th for us looks further away now, that it was before that night... We are not a contender at the moment and with Gold Coast and GWS getting recent draft concessions it is hard to see a premiership window opening up much for most of this decade. It may be a little while off before the battle for most premierships in league becomes a prize up for grabs between two clubs like it was that season.

Was so devastated at our end to the year I went interstate on GF weekend and made sure I didn't even hear a score.

But I have to admit to VCRing the game and watching it on return.

Was just looking up the scores from that season on internet. Turns out we actually lost the game before to Bulldogs.
Wow, Terry Wallace did well to have his Dogs to stop run of both clubs that season so my memory is foggy on that so we certainly had not won 13 in a row. Maybe we had won 13 at that stage in season.

We actually only won 2 out of first 5 when I looked back.

Round 6 started a bit of a streak until Terry Wallace Dogs upset us with a 3 point loss.

Remember the Ess v Bulldogs 2000 game well. Chris Grant on the boundry kicking the sealer.
After 20 wins in a row, I was getting worried. As soon as that final siren sounded, my first initial thought was.
"You bloody ripper, we now have the flag in the bag". It was the loss we desperately needed.
The team never even sung the theme song all season after all the wins and I thought they were just going through the motions.
The loss got Essendon thinking and got our feet back on the ground.
I also remember Barnes running through Brad Johnson right on the half time siren. Moorcroft who was on the bench, ran on the ground and cleaned up Kolyniuk. Libba went nuts but came off second best with a split head.
