SuperCoach formguide: Players who perform best on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
SELECTING a player based on what day a game is played on shouldn’t come into the calculations for a SuperCoach.
However, there are some players that perform better on a certain day.
Note: Thursday and Monday games haven’t been taken into account, as the sample size is way too small to make any meaningful judgements.
FRIDAY
The Friday night spotlight has been on Patrick Dangerfield, with the Cats dynamo averaging 137.9 points – the most of any player in the competition.
With scores of 132, 135, 140 and 144 points in that order from four games, he has been a rock-solid vice-captain loophole option.
Dangerfield’s remaining two games are on Saturday and Sunday.
Sydney’s Josh Kennedy hasn’t missed a beat all season, ranking second behind Dangerfield for his output with 132.4 points per game.
He has posted scores of 119, 161 and 117 points respectively, with his 161-point haul coming against this week’s opponent North Melbourne. These two sides clash on Saturday afternoon.
Rounding out the top three is Kennedy’s teammate Tom Mitchell with an average of 126.5 points.
Like the above-mentioned, he too dominated against the Kangaroos, collecting a season-high 178 points in their Round 10 clash.

Patrick Dangerfield leads all scorers on Saturday with a return of 133 points per game from 10 matches.
He has been a beacon captain choice all season, and this will be no different in Round 23 as the Cats conclude their home-and-away season with a home clash at Simonds Stadium against the Demons.
He has averaged 31 disposals, 16 contested possessions and 134 points in Saturday games at the Cattery.
His opponent in that Round 23 encounter will be Max Gawn.
He too has dominated on Saturday’s, averaging 132.2 points which ranks second behind Dangerfield.
Melbourne has won five of its 10 Saturday games and Gawn has been integral in these matches, finishing with 95, 174, 141, 168 and 151 points in that order.
Scott Pendlebury ranks third overall with an average of 126.5 points. That average is boosted marginally in night games, increasing to 129 points, and with a clash against the Suns this round, he looms as a viable vice-captain choice.
Pendlebury has scored 133 and 135 points from his two most recent games against Gold Coast.

It’s a shame that Gary Ablett is out injured, especially considering he averages 143 points on Sunday’s – ranked No.1 in the competition. He has posted scores of 143, 127 and 159 points from his three games.
Sam Mitchell ranks second with an average of 131.9 points. He has been a reliable source of points on Sunday’s, scoring 144, 97, 152 and 134 in that order.
With a clash against Collingwood to finish the home-and-away season, another pumper score is on the cards, especially considering he has scored 126 and 115 points from his past two games against the Magpies.
Mitchell’s teammate Sam Gibson ranks third with an average of 128 points, while Patrick Dangerfield ranks equal-seventh with 114.1 points per game. He has enjoyed mixed results on Sunday, scoring 77, 166, 127, 99 and 101 points in that order.
Dangerfield’s 166-point haul was against this round’s opponent Brisbane who he faces this Sunday at the Gabba.
