Went to the supermarket to get some lunch, they had toilet paper in stock and from what I saw at least 75% of people had some in their trolleys, most with the largest size bulk pack, a lot with multiple bulk packs. Crazy.

I felt a bit left out - I didn't need any, still got half a pack in the cupboard.

I went to the Supermarket today, met an old friend and we touched elbows, then washed my hands before lunch, then washed my hands before 'a man had to do what a man had to do', then washed my hands again. I may need a hand moisteriser :D

Without going into panic mode what would happen if a player tested positive for Corona (No not the beer) virus. Self isolation for him but what happens to the rest of the team? If a couple of their players went positive for it what would happen to the team for that round? Wonder if AFL have planned for that.

The AFL would introduce a themed round to celebrate..................something or other.

The whole club, players, coaches and support staff, would have to self isolate for 14 days or more, given the current protocols in place. If they are going to shut schools, etc then a football club won't be immune (no pun intended).

good question

apparently the GM's of all the NBA teams got told their is a "real" possibility of games being played in "closed" courts , the AFL has also raised it.

6 nation games have been cancelled , played behind "closed" doors etc etc

People would be pretty naive to think it won't happen in Australia.

In your case , I guess they would have to isolate all players , staff etc for the 14 days and either cancel the games , reschedule (how ?) or forfeit.

McLachlan and Hocking would no doubt see it as a golden opportunity to introduce a dozen or so rule changes for 2021 season.

Entire rounds would be cancelled. Happening around the globe.

But has there been an athlete confirmed around the globe? Would’ve thought they would have good immune systems given their good fitness.

Are the cycling teams in quarantine in the Abu Dhabi hotel due to the athletes/support staff contracting the virus ?

Isn't that the concern with the Olympics though in a confined village , they are susceptible to catching anything and it would spread more rapidly.

Once a swimmer catches the cold/flu the whole team seems at risk.

Yeah you are right, it’s the support staff that are the bigger threat.

I believe several members of a Serie C football team in Italy are/were infected. All it takes is for one carrier who doesn't know they have it. After all these footballers spend what 30 hours or so a week in close proximity to each other ?

It is an interesting one. I think they should cancel the entire round or even two rounds to allow for the quarantine. But the AFL being totally controlled by the "how much money will we make/or lose" mentality will probably not do that. They should be raising it now and discussing with the clubs (maybe they are but it would not surprise if they haven't) because they need to have a game plan ready to go. They should not make it up on the day and get it wrong as they seem to do so well. This is not the peptide saga that fell on them from the sky without warning. They should have their act together on this one well in advance.

Just watched the Marlion Pickett story on the ABC.

Interestingly Richmond were looking at him around 2016/2017 but Hardwick wasn't prepared to take the chance.

Also he and his manager spoke to Ess , Freo , GCS , StK & WCE

Was transferred to a minimum security jail where they were allowed to play football , but found that jail too relaxed and requested to be transferred back to a maximum security jail to get more structure.

The only way was to get charged , so set up to get marajiauna thrown over the fence and got caught , charged and moved.

Couldn't play football though and his team lost the finals.

Once he was released , went to South Fremantle the next day and asked for a chance.

Thankfully for all of us he re broke his finger days before the mid season draft and after a change of heart by Hardwick Richmond picked him up.

If he debuted on arrival he would not have been $ 123,900.00

so having seen how many Sins remain from their original list , I thought I would look at the Giants list for 2012

49 players on their list

14 remain (Buntine , Cameron , Coniglio , Davis , Greene , Haynes , Kennedy , Mohr , Patton , Reid , Scully , Shiel , Tomlinson , Ward)

14 at other clubs in 2018 (Adams , Bruce , Bugg , Frost , Hampton , Hombsch , Hoskin-Elliott , Miles , Phillips , Smith , Townsend , Treloar , Tyson , Wilson)

21 gone

Aylett , Brogan , Clifton , Cooyou , Cornes , Farley , Downie , Edwards , Folau , Giles , Golds , Growden , McDonald , O'hAilpin , Palmer , Power , Schulz , Segrave , Sumner , Ugle , Whiley
thought I would provide another update before the start of this season

Mohr , Patton , Scully , Shiel & Tomlinson have now all left as well , so they only have 9 of the original 49 left.

Interesting article on afl.com.au about the Suns , once Lynch leaves they will just have just seven players remain from the original 2011 list.

Harbrow, Rischitelli and Day will know their fate soon, while May, Swallow, defender Rory Thompson and ruckman Tom Nicholls all have another 12 months.

8 seasons in and they might have to start all over again.

Gold Coast's first ever team - round two, 2011
B:
Seb Tape, Nathan Bock, Campbell Brown
HB: Jarrod Harbrow, Karmichael Hunt, Nathan Krakouer
C: Trent McKenzie, Daniel Harris, Michael Rischitelli
HF: Danny Stanley, Charlie Dixon, Alik Magin
F: Jared Brennan, Zac Smith, Brandon Matera
Foll: Josh Fraser, David Swallow, Gary Ablett
I/C: Marc Lock, Harley Bennell, Dion Prestia, Josh Toy
Emerg: Maverick Weller, Daniel Gorringe, Michael Coad
Coach: Guy McKenna

Remain: Habrow, Rischitelli, Swallow
Gone: Tape, Bock, Brown , Hunt, Kraokouer, Harris, Stanley, Magin , Brennan, Fraser, Lock, Toy, Gorringe, Coad
On another AFL list; McKenzie, Dixon, Smith, Matera , Ablett, Bennell, Prestia , Weller

Other originals remaining: Steven May, Sam Day, Rory Thompson, Tom Nicholls
Other originals gone: Nathan Ablett, Tom Lynch, Josh Caddy, Matt Shaw
and for the Suns only Day , Habrow , Swallow & Thompson remain from their original list
