Where did you read that. My brother just went there on Friday.
Ah sorry, wrong information. There's so much flying around facebook at the moment I got a bit confused.

Anyone who has been in UK or schengen countries can't enter. And no "visa on arrival" will be issued.

My friend has a hostel which is basically about to go out of business. As would many tourism business (not just in vietnam obviously)

NZ has introduced mandatory 14 day quarantine for anyone entering the country. That will likely be the end of the Rugby Union for now, not sure on the impact for NZ Warriors in Rugby League. If that stops the NRL, can't see AFL going ahead.

I quite like what NZ have done, Australia should do the same. Won't happen, but makes sense.

This is why the cricket between Aus/NZ was cancelled, the Kiwis have to get home before these quarantine laws are enforced.
The Warriors certainly present a "unique" situation for the NRL.

Looks like they will need to fly over their entire Squad and staff and "relocate" in Australia to keep the season going and then find them a alternative venue to play their "home" games.

Suspect all of that would take a lot of time to organise if in fact the Warriors are in agreement.

Suspect once Round 1 is completed they will have no option but to cancel/postpone the season.

NRL going ahead with Round 2 at this stage , Warriors have temporarily relocated to the Gold Coast where they will play their "home" game , 2 players returned home for family reasons.

Wellington Phoenix flying to Australia after their home game to relocate so the A-League can continue.

Suggestions the AFL might play games every night of the week to "fast track" rounds.

Sucks - I've got a couple of weeks booked snowboarding in July, FCK knows where I stand on this. Totally understand but I hope I haven't done $3500 deposit. Be spewing if I can't get my boarding fix mid year.

@Philzsay have you made the executive decision to postpone the official SCS catch up yet?
Yes, we here at SCS take the health and safety of our readers and contributors as our number 1 priority. Plus ScoMo has declared that we must cancel all social gatherings of more than 500, which as you know the SCS Meetups has always exceeded. ?

Contrary to public rumours, it has nothing to do with my laziness. ?

Lets wait a week or two and see what happens. If the games proceed beyond rd 1 behind round doors we may organise a footy pub session so that we can all defy the AFL and share the Corona love around regardless.... ?

I wonder if something like this could work

Base 6 teams in 3 centres for 5 weeks so they all play each other once , eliminates flying

Centre A plays Monday, Tuesday , Wednesday nights

Centre B plays Thursday, Friday nights and Saturday afternoon

Centre C plays Saturday night, Sunday day, Sunday afternoon/twilight

AFL honour the TV contract and 7 actually get games every day

no 5 day breaks

after 5 rounds, rotate all the sides and repeat

probably need 2-3 complete hotels, training grounds, facilities etc

cant see the players agreeing to living in a hotel 24/7 for 5 weeks at a time

At least if you organise a laser tag catch up everyone is covered up. IDIG would have caught a lot of viruses the night Goldstein went big!

………..Kane Richardson...…..reported a mild sore throat...…...was isolated from the rest of the squad while the tests results were awaited...…...Sean Abbott was briefly called into the squad as cover....…..."Once we receive the results of the tests and Kane recovers in the next few days we expect he will re-join the team...…...

I'm thinking this will happen to AFL players.
That is, if an AFL player is suspected to have the virus, then he will isolated until confirmed he has not got the virus, then allowed to play when virus free. If an AFL team can't field enough players, then they will be allowed to do what ESS did, and get players from a minor league to make up the team.

This way, the games go ahead and the AFL doesn't lose their money from live television.

Yeah, agree with this. It's all good until there is a confirmed case then I think the entire team would need to be quarantined and tested. That's probably when we'll see no AFL played for 2-3 weeks at a minimum.

AFL don’t care it’s all about the TV rights money, the clubs will suffer though, unless compensated
its all about SuperCoach.
for once the AFL is thinking about the fans. they know we've already put months of work into our starting teams.
I feel so silly now
I thought @Dustman was 100% correct, that AFL Corona Virus planning is all about money, but after @poopingHindi correctly pointed out, the AFL are only thinking about us SuperCoahers

Maybe we need a Corona Virus thread?

Nah I think IDIG would have been fine, after all he was on his own sobbing quietly in a corner that night. Everyone else on the other hand...high fives, hugs, plenty of drink shouting, not much social distancing going on!

Yes, I was wondering whether we should give Mr. Corona Virus its own thread but that felt like conceding defeat. ATM am thinking to let the coronavirus spot fires run about instead of trying to contain them in their own thread haha. But I can consolidate if people generally think that would be more helpful.

I'm thinking once we get it off our chests, then there will be less talk about the Corona Virus, then it should quiet down. A lot of people have got it off their chest already and once decisions are made, there will be less speculation, so less to talk about.

Yep my thoughts as well! I am probably not helping with the spot fires myself! Hopefully we can continue with games with no crowds for as long as possible.
