Tarrant can play CHB.
But Rooey is as loyal as they come and is the Saint's captain.
Only way Rooey will be at another club next year is if something happened that forced him to make the decision to leave.

If Rooey leaves, Saints fans will be out for blood in droves....watch out Watters and Saints board

Why would Rooey go to North when they have Petrie, Black and Tarrant???

Some interesting speculation I heard today.

Nick Roo to North may amazingly happen and don't discount Neil Craig turning up at Essendon for coaching duties....

Sure its not Nicky Dal Santo, word is he is increasingly likely to go to North. Just saw on the news that Petrie and other Roos had a meeting with him or his management, something along those lines anyway.

They have Thompson, Grima, Hansen and Firrito in the backline... Honestly there is surely 0 chance of Rooey being traded. Would almost be wooden spoon favourites without him.

St Kilda offered Riewoldt a 1-year extension contract to starve off Collingwood's advances

Adam Simpson will be a great coach for the Eagles.
He shows respect by declaring that he's not going to scrutinise the playing list but rather work together with the list manager and assistant coaches on decisions made this year.
He's meeting up with Worsfold to get advice and bounce off ideas.
He wants to keep Scotty Burns as his Senior Assistant.

Fresh coach, new ideas, and a united coaching team could do wonders for the Team in 2014.
Watch out, the Eagles will be back stronger and hungrier in 2014.

Plus because they finished in the bottom 6 they play some of those clubs twice under the new system.

Had Neeld kept his job, this year's trade would have been mouth watering for him.
Paul Chapman, Jeremy Laidler, Alan Didak, Daniel Cross, Nic Lower (all free agents)

Adelaide should offer Dangerfield an extension to his contract now than wait till next year when the wolves come prowling.
They should have learnt a big lesson from the Tippett circus and more recently the Franklin saga.

With retirements from Shaw, ROK, and Goodes next year, the Swans will be polishing their beaks and once the Franklin contract is signed sealed and delivered, their next target will surely be Dangerfield. And yes, they can fit Danger in their cap.

Rumour is that Bomber Thompson finally has decided to take the role as interim coach with Neil Craig as assistant coach.
tbh, I didn't see anyone else who could fill this unprecedented 'gap'.

Strange that they needed to appoint a 5-man committee to decide on someone who is the obvious candidate.
It is clear whoever takes the interim position will have to keep and continue the structure and strategies that Hird implemented.

It was probably more like a 5 man panel to convince(beg) him to take the job because he wasn't very keen on it!

Could have saved the panel money and use it to give Bomber a huge pay rise. I'm sure that would be enough to convince him.

Well they need to make sure they have proper 'Governance' in making the appointment. Awesome to have Danny Frawley as head of the coach's association come in and help set up the proper procedures, checklists, paperwork etc to follow. Awesome to have Terry Wallace as part of the panel in case they need a potential scape goat if they stuff it up!

Further hasn't it been great to see various members of the media say the appoinment announcement will be made in the next day or two, every couple of days for the past few weeks. Eventually they will get it right, and of course won't be afraid to write "As we told you so yesterday!"

(end of bitter jaded sarcastic remarks from Essendon supporter)

They should be more worried about saving cash for their $2 million fine...

I think one journalist summed it best on @traderadio
".... wasted so much time of so many people"

Lol, mind you that so called journalist if the Bombers simply appointed Thompson straight away without interviewing anyone else or forming a panel would have been saying "The Bombers have learnt absoulutely nothing. Where is the proper process and due dilligence? It's an absoulte disgrace."
