Good ruck stocks at freo. There's no way they'd play sandi into the ground with the other rucks there to relieve him. There smart enought to just play him to keep him in form to be called apon for the must win games and finals.
cant see him playing more than 18 games at most.
if he does play the first 10 games I can understand the stepping stone role it would play

So just for a taste I slapped this together real quick Rookies are all 115k Fillers.

Salary cap left: $238,000.

Bryce Gibbs, Grant Birchall, Pearce Hanley, Matt Suckling, Nathan Bock, Jordan Kelly
Will Langford, Angus Litherland

Gary Ablett jnr, Scott Pendlebury, Joel Selwood, Patrick Dangerfield, Dayne Beams, Daniel Robinson, Peter Rolfe, Luke Rounds
Thomas Schneider, Sam Schulz

Hamish McIntosh, Aaron Sandilands
Daniel Currie, Liam McBean

Tom Rockliff, Dustin Martin, Nic Naitanui, Lance Franklin, Dale Thomas, Todd Elton
Craig Evans, Jackson Ferguson
No way that side will get under the real cap. I've used Fanplanner the last couple of years and one can fit 15 premiums in. As a rule of thumb, build a side aiming for at least 600k left which will give you 12-13 premiums which is more realistic.

...with all the discounts, minus one forward and you could probably lock in the premo's

Anyone know how to find SC team averages per year?

Interested to see what GC averaged in 2011/2012/2013 and what GWS averaged in 2012/2013 and what we could expect from them next year. Any worthwhile jumps or third year breakouts worth noting? McKenzie might be one, Dixon maybe the other? Not many others I can think of.

I don't reckon. Similar scenarios played out pre season last couple of years when I built draft teams using Fanplanner. For what its worth, try 12-13 premiums, two or three discount players and then rookies with @600k left over, and you will be close to reality come the opening of SC and the real prices.

Don't get me wrong, the guys who put this together at this early stage are awesome, it is great to formulate ideas. Hats off to them.

I've got this available. Not sure if there are other sites around that have team stats as opposed to individual ones.

GCS average team SC scores 2011-2013: 1455, 1480, 1595
GWS average team SC scores 2012-2013: 1476, 1464

Highest GCS improvements on SC average from 2012 to 2013 (brackets have games played in 2013 followed by games played in 2012:
Josh Hall +27.2 (3,2) RUC
Gorringe +26.7 (9,1) RUC
Wilkinson +21.3 (10,9) DEF
McKenzie +21.0 (18,17) DEF
Brown +20.4 (13,18) FWD
Gilbee +18.7 (3,1) FWD
Prestia +18.5 (20,14) MID
Dixon +17.7 (13,11) DEF
Day +14.9 (20,15) FWD
Shaw +13.3 (18,18) DEF

Then we've got another 10 players who improved their averages between 0-10 points per game, 8 who saw their averages fall between 0-10 points per game, and another 7 players with a drop of more than 10 points per game.

Love your work Fresh. I think there's a fair bit we can take out of this although I know what happened to gc won't necessarily happen with gws. It does appear that the defenders improved most, presumably with more focus on stopping teams score as well as becoming accustomed to the pace and pressure of the game. Might be something to watch next year.

Cheers. Strange timing, they missed out on Roos by waiting if he was within range.

On the ABC now as well -

Scott Watters has been sacked as St Kilda head coach ahead of 2014 AFL season

Posted 3 minutes ago

St Kilda has made the shock decision to sack head coach Scott Watters.

Watters took over as Saints coach from Ross Lyon ahead of the 2012 season, with the club unable to make the finals in either of his two campaigns in charge.

The club has made no comment on who will replace Watters on an interim basis, with its preseason preparations to get underway this month.

More to follow.

Strange thing is that he got sacked after the interview with SEN.
STK said that Watters did not have their permission to do the interview.
SEN said Watters told them that he had permission.

Last straw I guess for Watters
- issues with Pelchen
- possible rift with senior players (is that why Dal Santo left?)
- poor coaching record
- lost Laidley to Essendon

The St. Kilda players weren't fond of Watters

Strange that they waited this long to do it. I thought they would've sacked him before the trade period if they were going to do it.
