Collingwood midfielder Adam Treloar is likely to be sidelined until late August due to hamstring injuries he suffered in the final quarter of Sunday’s match against Carlton at the MCG.

After a consultation with a specialist today, it was confirmed that Treloar hurt both hamstrings in an awkward tumble; he has tendon damage to the hamstring in his left leg and a strain of the hamstring in his right.

Surgery to repair the tendon injury is required and is expected to occur before the end of the week.

Might mean the end for Silk, 2 hammys in 3 months. Be sad to see him go, one of, if not the best indigenous player to ever play the game.

I posed that same question a few weeks ago , almost seems "left out" of discussions when people mention McLeod , Wanganeen , Goodes , Micky O , Buddy etc etc

I think a lot of people don't realise how good he was as a pure mid in his Port days , him and Lace were as good as a combination ever seen.

Fantastic career nonetheless.

Hats off to Hawthorn because by all reports his knee was no good. O'Meara said on telly last night Burgoyne's longevity was one of the reasons he chose Hawthorn.

Young Bomber Mason Redman will spend an extended period on the sidelines after suffering an untimely ankle injury in Essendon’s strong victory over West Coast.

Redman had impressed in his return to the senior side against Brisbane and the Eagles, but will be forced to watch the team from the stands after suffering the disappointing injury late in the final term last Thursday.

“Mason got his ankle caught on another player with five minutes to go in the West Coast game,” Physical Performance Manager Justin Crow said on the SKINS Injury Update on Tuesday.

“He ran off, he was assessed at the time – we thought he might have a syndesmosis injury – he was scanned (and) unfortunately he does, he has an injury to the anterior portion of his syndesmosis.”

Fellow Bomber Mitch Brown suffered a similar injury last year and Crow said he is expecting Redman’s recovery to follow the same path.

“What we’re going to do is we’re going to operate on that tomorrow, put a band around it,” he said.

“(It is a) similar timeframe to return as what Mitch Brown worked through last year, around the eight-week mark usually.

“But obviously we’ll be taking this step by step and listening closely to what the surgeon has to say after the operation.”

I don't even have him but I'm genuinely more annoyed with this injury than any of my players that have gone down this year! He was going so well..

Yeah he has not looked out of place at all. Very disappointed for him and the club.

Just added some extra text to my post, it’s an 8 week injury! :(

More rule changes ...the players will all be wearing bibs soon
nah, not advocating for changes, just frustrated that this kind of incident penalises our team but benefits teams in the next round(s). was unnecessary and done to our best player. don't want the game to be soft, just want the right type of 'hard'.

i was very mad watching this on Saturday night. was needless and Harris and the team suffered then and will suffer until he's back fit and healthy. whilst i'm a proponent of keeping things the same, every time Cameron did something productive it felt very wrong. is it time to consider send o***? not sure. i hope Harris is okay, he's a good player but more importantly seems a like a really good guy!
It is a interesting one Chris Judd on Footy Classifieds said it needs to be looked at again about introducing the send off rule.

This case , the Bugg one and the Houli one in the last few years.

Unfortunately though it is very subjective and who decides who does/doesn't get sent off when we have 3/4 field umpires , or do we then have to have a match referee to adjudicate each game.

Agree though Lions suffer with the loss of Andrews , yet Cameron can still play out the game.

Don’t know if it’s a good idea Herbie, that’s what the tribunal is for, but if they did do it, it think it’s a referral by the field ump with the decision by the video review ref after reviewing the footage. Game continues on in the mean time. This would (or should.....) remove the chance of a stuff up in the heat of the moment.

Yeah fair points Drew.

You would like to think the Cameron one was clear cut , I remember the Houli one people were for and against so that is the problem with it being subjective and a stuff up occurs.

Has anyone heard or seen anything about Matty Kreuzer this week?

I haven't so just wondering if I've missed anything or not.
