🚨 Freak Accident: Heeney's broken thumb 🚨

https://www.afl.com.au/news/624430/...roken-thumb-revelation-hot-swan-set-to-return

A RED-HOT Isaac Heeney has revealed he suffered a broken thumb after returning from a broken hand.
As is the case with Franklin, who coach John Longmire expects to face St Kilda on Saturday despite an injury scare in the game against Carlton, the Swans' biggest concern about Heeney is how best to manage his banged-up body. Heeney has had a range of setbacks that have restricted him to 117 games since he was drafted in 2014.

Heeney missed the round five derby because of a broken hand, played two games, then skipped a round eight loss to Melbourne. His ankle was the main reason he sat out the MCG clash but, unbeknown to those outside the club before Monday's admission, he also broke his thumb in round seven.

Did all Heeney owners just have a heart attack when they saw the headline, lol

As Heeney owners we all know we are living on borrowed time. Won't be the only scare we get this season. Every time he flies for a mark or goes head first at a contest I've got my heart in my throat.

It's probably wishful thinking but hoping I don't have to hit that T button alongside his name at some point.

Anyone know of news of Scott and Berry?
Berry has concussion and is confirmed out this week.

Adelaide head of performance Matt Hass has provided the following injury update after the Round 11 loss to Richmond.

"Sam Berry was involved in a collision in a marking contest in the second quarter and assessed at half time. He was subbed out of the game with concussion and will now be subject to the AFL’s concussion protocol."

Scott should be up for selection after waiting out the concussion period. I think he'll be straight back in.

Isn't this the best possible outcome for Grundy owners that it happened before the byes ?

Coleman-Jones and Reeves both possible options at the right time if needed.

Dodges Gawn (although went big last year).

Wait for further info and then reassess if need to bring in another ruck after they have had their bye.
I'd argue it's the worst possible time. Losing a genuine premium who has the most avoidable bye (if you were going to trade) means likely donuts for many. For me personally I lose a guy in the two byes that I really, really need him and was already totally safe in his bye so it really hurts.

Luckily there are a few options to try and save it that can be taken, the part that really sucks is Reeves out this week means we have no idea if he's fit or not for r13 and I think I'd rather take him this week for Flynn than CCJ who has the premium and misses in by far the worst bye for me.

CCJ doesn't really work for my SC bye structure either. I'm also not that keen on grabbing a big man straight off kicking a bag on a struggling side. Similar thing happened with Thilthorpe back in Rd6 with the media then talking him up like he's the second coming of Jason Dunstall. :giggle:

Just paid elevated dollars for another FWD rookie with a problematic Rd13 FWD bye in Weightman so not sure I want to double down on another. The Reeves injury and Flynn/Mummy uncertainty is unquestionably a spanner in the works. So I might just sit it out this week and decide who I want to cash out between Grundy and Flynn next week for Reeves depending on the updated landscape, assuming the latter is healthy.

Maybe if CCJ impresses again this weekend I'll look at him in Rd14 for Poulter or someone.

Fair enough , trade him out then , easily solved.

Think he has the best bye , suspect many would have 18+ this round even without him.

Isn't the idea of Round 13 to bring in 3 premiums and then again in Round 14.

So teams could be 18+ premiums in Round 14.

Also fortunately have the benefit of 2 possible rookies to cover him each round.

If you can bring in 6 premos over Rds 13 and 14 (without sideways trading) I'd be fairly impressed there. o_O

Just exactly how much bank are you intending on hoarding there Herbie ... and can I please have some? ;)

hahaha

I certainly won't be , but isn't that what the very good coaches always plan to do ?

Round 13 Add 3 premiums
Round 14 Add 3 premiums

Start of Round 15 be full premium

My plan for Round 13 & 14 is pretty much limited to :-

Mumford - > Reeves (if named)
Mansell - > Bianco (if named)
Highmore - > Whitfield

Rowe - > Duncan

currently have about $ 50k in my advantage so will be tight
