Now the Hawks are likely to face Gold Coast at TIO Stadium in Darwin without a recognised ruckman, with captain Ben McEvoy sidelined with a neck injury and raw big man Ned Reeves still recovering from the dislocated shoulder he suffered against Geelong on Easter Monday.

Reeves has been undergoing a strengthening and mobility program since he injured his shoulder in round five and hasn't been completely ruled out for this weekend.

But given he is yet to return to full training – and the club hasn't ruled out surgery as an option – Reeves would be unlikely to come in against Jarrod Witts on Saturday night.

Wow, Witts could go massive this week

Let me guess how this goes, Tuesday Tim English is ticking all the boxes, Wednesday he's confirmed out, Thursday he's named, Friday he's not sighted at training and Saturday he's a late out.
On sen1116 this afternoon, they mentioned that English and maybe Weightman would be inclusions this week. This may not fare well for Khamis owners, although Khamis does play taller than Weightman.

After consulting specialists today, top-rated Canberra draftee Josh Fahey will require a shoulder reconstruction after dislocating his left shoulder during Sunday’s VFL match.

GIANTS Head of Medical James Rahme said:

“Josh injured his shoulder during a football incident in the game on Sunday.

“He was ruled out of the game and scans on Monday showed that he’ll require a shoulder reconstruction. He'll go in for surgery next week.

“It’s disappointing for Josh that he’ll miss the rest of the season but he’ll learn a lot from the rehab process and will be in a really good position to attack the next pre-season.”

Bugger, another rookie defender that looked very promising bites the dust :( He is an elite kick/ rebounding defender.
