Roses Are Red is Bobby Vinton's third studio album, released in 1962. After Vinton's hit "Roses Are Red (My Love)" reached No. 1 (and saved Vinton from being fired from Epic Records), the eponymous album was released and made its way up to No. 5 on the Billboard 200.

Reading the song title I immediately thought of David Boon :)

Much loved Tasmanian batsman David Boon is said to have claimed the record of 52 beers consumed on Australia’s plane trip to London ahead of the 1989 Ashes series.

Rod Marsh had originally broke Walters’ record, setting the bar at 51 cans, in an effort that saw the wicketkeeper carried off the plane. Legend has it that Boony was stuck on 49 cans as the plane approached Heathrow Airport, until the pilot was told to make a couple of loops to ensure the record was broken.

But Walters revealed on Fox Cricket’s The Cricket Tragic, that he doesn’t count Boon or Marsh’s record, due to the pair having a head start due to living in different states.

“I think 44 (beers) was my record,” Walters told cricket tragic Gus Worland.

“And Marshy went over and had 45 but as I say, you only set the bar for someone to jump over. Marshy I say to him, I don’t give you the record. I started from Sydney, you started from Melbourne. You went Melbourne (to) Sydney, to London.

“And I don’t give credit to Boony either because he started in Launceston. He went Launceston, Melbourne, Sydney to London.

“We didn’t count the ones we had on ground. We only called those practice sessions, so we were in a pretty good mood by the time we got there.”

I only just discovered this song and band in the last few days... Can't stop playing it. Love the facial expressions of the drummer too, lol

Didn't mind it .... lead singer with a missing tooth and an eyesight test in the background on the wall struck me as odd ....
