Menegola v Petracca?
Yeah I just had a good look at Menegola too but last year he really didn't have many good games when Danger and Selwood both played. Now Ablett is there too, he could just be an expensive 95 average.

My final XY, after a lot of uncertainty with that final keeper spot.

A: Parker + Keeffe + 85k bank.
-On field I'd have Parker + Fritsch.
-Keeffe could be switched back for Murphy and I could trade in the best of Garlett/Langdon/Venables up fwd.

VS

B: Roughy (or any other fwd except the obvious 4) + J.Smith + 130k bank.
-I would use J.Smith to loop Barry/Holman/Banfield on a weekly basis

Although I've been pushing B for most of post JLT2 because I liked being able to loop those rookie mids, I think A is probably the better option now.

I have A as 108 + 65 = 173 VS B 95 + 75* = 170
*this is assuming I can even loop a 75 average from Barry/Holman/Banfield.

Initially I was iffy on that extra fwd rookie slot and even had Murphy as a better option instead of them. After two games, I've quickly found that Murphy isn't that great and Garlett probably was the better call up fwd. I'm still glad I didn't lock in Garlett on Thursday in the mids because I wouldn't have been able to start that extra mid had I done so and also wouldn't have been able to park Keeffe up fwd to facilitate that correction trade.

Any thoughts? Or should I just KISS and go through with A?

McLean v Dahl v Trac for my F3/F4?

Had Dahl all pre-season but doesn't seem value for his price so went McLean, then heard the news about Melbourne missing so many mids so thought Trac might start very strongly (and at the same time boost my bank) in case I need to get Danger in.

Trac for sure out of that lot. McLean and Dahl just too uncertain with the lack of fwds at the doggies. I could be wrong on the WBD guys though.

This isnt technically X v Y but it's the most active thread it seems....

Laird, Hibberd, Naughton, O'Shea, Murray, Murphy (Doedee, Finlayson)
Martin, Mitchell, Crouch, Fyfe, Coniglio, ?????, Brayshaw, Banfield (Kelly, Barry, HOlman)
Ryder, Gawn (English)
Heeney, Billings, Lambert, Petraca, Sicily, Frtsch (ZGL, Ryan)

with 559,100 left.

Had a late commitment on Thursday night that left O'Shea as a placeholder.

Not sure how to fix my mids with my fixation on Coniglio's value. Do I get another rookie? Just wait till next week and
get Cripps? What would you do?

Brayshaw -> O'Connor opens a D/M link , then over $ 600,000.00 for a premium mid

OR

Parker , Rockliff
JOM , Armitage type
another rookie eg O'Connor

depends how bad you want Cripps I guess

teams look very well set up

Olango Vs Cameron as R3

Is it worth getting the better loophole option (Olango) and saving 20K or getting in Cameron who is some chance to get games during the year.

From what I can see Sinclair is the only other swans ruck so surely Cameron will get some opportunities

I'd definitely grab a midfielder this week to bank those points. I've got a similar situation with Murphy one I want to get rid of with a late change in my structure. The way I've done it is I'll start Keeffe up forward and then trade Murphy to a fwd rookie later on. I think you could do something similar. You could start Keeffe instead of ZGL and trade O'Shea to Garlett later on. That would mean you keep Murphy though, but I guess O'Shea is a bigger issue for you at this stage.

Alterantively, you could just start someone like Parker and deal with O'Shea later (possible O'shea to Cole/Coffield).

Gee this is a tricky one. I personally think that although it's promising Lobb has been named No.1 ruck, it honestly is a massive risk taking him when he's only had a 3/4 game or so in the NEAFL in a 16-18 per side game! It'd be like taking Nank last season without any preseason games.

I'd personally stick with Heeney + Christensen there. But I like Trac too.

You know Murphy is not going to be a great scorer at this stage and may just hold onto his position due to injuries/suspension of others.

Do you prefer to have a poor quality D7 or someone who is decent.

I think next best cheaper defender is Bonner at $257k who should ave 75-80. Otherwise its Gurthrie 197k or O'Connor, who is cheap but may not get a game next week.

You have Sicily and not sure if you want to be looking at the $300k defenders.

That must be 1st decision which will then drive mid decision (where you have depth).

Mids rookies includer Hunter Clark, Fogarty, O'Connor, or LDU who have been a poor performer in JLT, then would look at the 250k-300k players, although good once have played already. If you go cheap in defence you can look at Libba/JOM.

Unfortunately you cannot afford Bonner/JOM which would be stand out decision.

Maybe consider Sicily into backline, JOM mids and next best fwd with money left over, will not be Christensen as he will be too expensive.

Just some thoughts. If you are prepared for more change, Hibberd to Savage and that will allow you to do more change ups.
