Like yourself, I'm bullish on Hayden Young @pizza safety but damn the price is tricky.

Lloyd + H. Young vs Mills + Cox?
Is that meant to be A: Mills + Young vs B: Lloyd + Cox?

FWIW I think you should probably have Cox anyway, so it comes down to how much you want Young in your team vs a player on another line.

Oliver v Petracca? Oliver with the interrupted preseason and those shoulders and petracca looks set for a big year. Can only pick one! Thoughts?

Really tricky, I lean Impey/Short.

Battling a similar conundrum myself with Young + Heeney vs Cox + Dunkley.

Finding it difficult to get cosy on Heeney, any time I end up with him in my team I feel so much comfortable getting him up to a guy who'll see more midfield time.

One of these years he'll put it all together, I'm sure of it.
Here's an old post from me of this - from the Prospectus 2020. @Ben's Beasts

Heeney can score when playing forward.

Heeney averaged 92 points per 100 mins as a midfielder and 91 points per 100 mins as a forward according to the prospectus. His side only won a clearance in 39% of the centre bounces he attended - second lowest of the top 10 attendees at the club. This explains why he averaged 95.6 without Buddy and 92 with Buddy.

This makes me wonder what kind of player Heeney actually is and whether he can ever be a gun inside midfielder or if he has much of a ceiling. He might just be a solid SC player and a very good half-forward rather than an elite SC scorer going forward.

He'll still likely be a top 6 forward this year but he's probably unlikely to hurt you if you don't start him.

Good assessments there.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with the extra premiums in DEF instead of FWD. It looks as though it will be necessary this season.

I’ve actually gone even deeper in DEF at this stage with Williams at D5.
Wow Williams at D5, that's a lot deeper than I'm willing to go, defenders are too inconsistent for me trust them that much. Any thoughts on Harmes?

I think he's not going to have it as easy as he did in 2019, with Viney fitter and Petracca now a gun midfielder, but I do still reckon he has the chance to be 4th in line for CBA's (ahead of Brayshaw) and I reckon he can push 90 - he's quite unlikely to be a keeper but it's not impossible, especially if (knock on wood) someone in the midfield gets injured (I don't wish that of course).

Really looking forward to seeing how we use Harmes on Monday with Viney and Brayshaw in the team too.

If he is still attending CBA’s or at least playing a role which sees him get a lot of the footy then I think he will be an okay pick and could average in the 90’s provided he carries that role into the season proper.

I see him as 5th in line behind Oliver, Trac, Viney and Brayshaw. Also wouldn’t be surprised to see Sparrow get more of a run in the mids this season too.

Right now he’s unlikely for me but that could change from Monday night.

i don't know if its already been done but whats everyone's thoughts on

T.Green v D.Heppell?

As Heppell is captain he SHOULD get more games if injuries dont appear(touch wood)
BUT, Green seems to be a young talent and has had a good preseason so far.

Heppell is safer with a lower ceiling, higher floor and higher JS at this point in time. Though durability probably cancels the JS.

Green has a much more explosive scoring ceiling but also a lot more room for busting (everyone who's watched him could still be wrong!) and we don't know his durability at this point.

I'd say on a conservative estimate they're probably both in the 87-95 type of range if they stay fit, my gut says Green is going to go HAM though so I guess if you have an otherwise safe team he'd be my pick. Added bonus that Green is more expensive so if you get it absolutely wrong, you can always trade down to Heppell. There aren't any real standout bailouts for Heppell.

I think Green will do well this year. Pretty good odds for the rising star aswell.
It sure feels like a two horse race, I think Green can also win it outright but given his injury history that's at least a factor on Rowell also.

Young, Sholl, Phillips and Downie seem like the other guys most likely to me.

Both are injury prone but I wanna take one of them Fyfe/jelly?
From what I've seen and read they've both had flawless preseasons so it's the year to grab them if you're going to.

Honestly reckon they're a coinflip, can make the same upside case, both are fairly priced, both have the same issue. Fyfe forward to Kelly on a wing a bit more are pretty equal negative role changes that both can still score well enough from. Even think that Freo and GWS are probably similar level sides fighting for a spot in the 8.

I’m going to take them both then
