G'day Rowsus,

I promise I will leave you alone in a few weeks time :D
With only the two trades and making the top 4 in leagues, do I trade this week and hope for the week off or hold?
Common sense says hold and hope to get thru but with Pav in doubt is it worth trading.
My plan was to downgrade Acres to a def/mid (Jayden Hunt) to open a link and upgrade either-
Shenton to Stokes or Taylor to who I can afford or: (would have Pav then as F7 and Taylor as my mid/fwd link
Would have good coverage (I think) but no trades.
Tough call as with making no trades I would not be able to do the Stokes thing next week
Any thoughts appreciated as usual

Howdy Rowsus,

So much for no more advice. Not sure whether to go all out or play conservatively. Have finished with the double chance in 5 leagues and have somehow managed to have 4 trades and $85,000. Think I need to sit tight on Tyson for another week with his -7 breakeven and upgrade him next week to a real premium. Except for this week can loophole Wingard & McGovern last 3 weeks via McDonough unless he gets selected. Do I sit on my team and hope S Thompson and Wingard fire and keep the trades for any disasters or do a downgrade, upgrade, trade out Tyson next week and have 1 for any LTIs.

What do you think Rowsus?

cheers

Hi rowsus

In your opinion who do you think will score more from now until the last week of sc from the following:
Dal santo
Ward
Priddis
Sideass

Ward, and priddis have the maccafer tag coming soon therefore you would expect there scoring potential for that particular week would be low. Dal santo has a nice draw and looks promising but he can be up and down. Sideass has been quite good but with the addition of swan could mean less time on the ball.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

So........ barring unforeseen problems in the next few days, it appears your trade out options are:
Hibberd, Litherland, Pavlich and Impey.
I have made 4 tables to show the different combinations of players you can afford, depending on which 2 players you trade out. The way to read the tables is look down the left column of Midfielders, and you can afford all the Defenders on their same line, or above. For example, looking at the 1st table, if you chose Sidebottom/JPK you can afford Birchall, Johnson M, Murphy R........ and all the players listed above them.

Looking at the tables, it would seem if you are going to go "all-in" in this week, you need to trade Hibberd out. If you don't, it looks like you have to settle for a Jack K - Dunn/Harbrow/Thompson SD/Adcock combination.
You could go with the Hibber/Impey combo, and loophole Pav from F7. This would allow you to get Dal Santo-Adcock/Thompson SD. That would certainly be an improvement on what you have now, and looping Pav is way better than using Impey as cover.
You could go for the big knock-out blow, and use the top table with Hibberd/Pav out. It gives you nearly any Mid you want, except for Rocky, and there are plenty of decent Defs to pick from. The Ward/Mitchell combo jumps out, but I would be wary with Mitchell. I think I'd prefer to go Broadbent for consistency, or Adcock for history. Don't discount Sidey as an option, either.
If I was forced to give you thee options, I would say:
option 1: Ward/Guthrie
option 2: Sidebottom/Murphy R - I like Murphy's draw, and GWS in Rnd 23!
option 3: Pavlich ---> Sidebottom, and hold the last trade.
I think I like option 1 best, as you are rolling the dice on beating your opponent this week.
Whichever way you jump, I wish you good luck! :)
Thanks so much for the tables Rowsus. Massive help!

Now I just have to decide if I want to take the risk and go Ward and Mitchell... or just trade out Pavlich and be more conservative.

How come you don't rate Mitchell? Do you rate Guthrie more than Mitchell?

Hi Rowsus

Just a quick one,
who to bench?

Dangerfield, Dusty, Boomer, R.Gray, Parker, S.Martin (Pavlich, McGovern)
Hi maken7,
Not sure how I missed this one, sorry! I hope you benched Pav like your graphic shows. That's quite a Fwd line you've got there!

Hi Rowsus, just posted this in another thread but would love to hear your wise opinion.

Here is my team, with 3 trades and $17,300 salary.

DEF: Hanley, McVeigh, Simpson, Mitchell, Hurn, Birchall (Enright, Georgiou)
MID: Fyfe, Selwood, Pendlebury, Beams, Murphy, Dal Santo, Liberatore, Jones (Acres, Hunt)
RUC: Goldstein, Sandilands (Thurlow, King)
FWD: Harvey, Dangerfield, Martin, Zorko, Pavlich, Wingard (Ambrose, Cameron)

Obviously Pavlich and Wingard at F5 and F6 are growing concerns. It's also noteworthy that Ambrose is injured and will miss the next 2-3 weeks and even after he is recovered, I doubt he will come straight back into the senior lineup. So I can downgrade him to make money for an upgrade.
Here are some options I have considered:

1) Ambrose -> Spina and Pavlich -> Parker
2) Ambrose -> Spina and Wingard -> Parker
3) Cameron -> Spina and Ambrose -> Caddy

Would appreciate your thoughts on these options and any alternative options I have not considered!
Hi jmack5,
I've tried a number of different things, but I think your first option is your best option.
Good luck :)

G'day Slammer,
I like the option of keeping Taylor over Shenton. It does restrict your selections a bit, but it appears better in the long run. Stokes looks like about as good as you can afford in this option, though I would also consider Hartlett.
Good luck :)

Howdy Saint,
what an amazing sliding door situation you have, having kept Tyson. It's really made a difference, well done!
I think you trust Thompson for now, especially as you can loophole him with Gardiner this week, assuming Bews isn't selected.
I would definitely ride Tyson out while he's scoring like this. Especially as Melbourne has a SC friendly draw.
I would consider making a move in your Forward line.
It's a little complicated, as it would be good to have some cash left too. The WB's give the best loopholing possibilities from here, as nearly all their games are Sunday games, and late. The problems is, their cheapest Fwds are Redpath $141,400 and Honeychurch $146,200. Honey might be a chance to play, and also might be a chance to shift up to your Midline in your last trade, to complete a DPP loop. Great for linking, but bad for loopholing if he plays. See, I told you it becomes complicated! The next best team for loopholing might be Brisbane. You can get Freeman for $117,300 or Wearden with M/F DPP for $123,900. This would enable you to turn Wingard/McGovern into someone better, like McGlynn, or even Martin S for scoring and loopholing in your Ruck. (it's not too late to get him.) I'd probably get Wearden, as it might help with your last trade.
A lot of it comes down to how much cash you might want to upgrade Tyson if/when you do it.
Good luck :)

Sidebottom, Ward, Priddis, Dal Santo - but I think all 4 will do quite well!
I like the game Sidey is playing now. Lots of possessions, and kicking goals. It's like he and Swan swapped roles. I wouldn't worry about Swan coming back being too negative on him.
Good luck :)

I don't actually rate Guthrie more than Mitchell, it's more a safety thing. Guthrie and Broadbent are pretty consistent, and that's all you want from your D6. Mitchell, if he plays all 4 games, will likely outscore them both, but he must be considered at least a 30-40% chance to miss at least one more game.

Hi Bobbie,
looking at your team, I think I'd save the trade for now. I can't see you achieving enough this week if you use it, and you may need it in the next few weeks.
Good luck :)

Thanks Rowsus! Wingard is my worst trade in this year but I can't even do anything about it with only $34,000!!

Hi Rowan,

Round by round what do you think SJ and Boomer will score for the rest of this year (and if it is different to your opinion what would RAMP say).

Thanks in advance.

Hi blue,
Normally I would say forget my opinion, but seeing as I'm the weekly "Predict the Score" Winner, my opinion might be good for at least 1 week! :p

Boom: 138 - 108 - 90 - 107
