Can you point me in the direction of your analysis on teams and how easy they are to score SC points against. I know i have seen it before and have searched the forum and this thread and get too many results for what ever i put into the search forum
I am wanting to do some of my own analysis from your figures on the draw for this year and which teams play against teams that are easy to score SC points against and rank each teams draw from there

Cheers, yes that can work. So from that information the following is correct
Easy to score against GWS; Melbourne; Suns
Slightly easier to score against St Kilda; Bulldogs; Port; North
Difficult to score against Crows; Lions; Pies; Blues; Essendon; WCE
V hard to score against Hawks; Swans; Cats; Freo; Tigers
Do you think this still applies or would you change teams from one category to another? (one for me would be the Tigers, are they still v hard to score against?)

Siwel I try and find the teams with a run of easy games each year as par of my pre season prep. It helps with line ball calls between players ie when I cannot make up my mind between two players and also when I plan to trade in players during the season. On the basis of the teams quoted above Adelaide are a no brainer in the early part of the season. They play the easiest seven teams in their first eight games. Only the Pies upset the run. Mind you new coach for Adelaide could put a spanner in the works...

I have just finished the analysis on the 2015 Fixture and will post it in the 2015: Fixture thread tomorrow but yes ADE only play 1 team (FRE) that is "hard to score against" before their rd 11 bye and this occurs in rd9, so very tempting to get on some Crows esp if they have some rookies that get games and mid pricers like Van Berlo

Are you planning to issue a 2015 version of your RAMP model? I found it invaluable this year and would love to be able to use it again in the coming season.
Also, do you (or anyone else) know when the 2015 player prices are going to be released? From memory, I think it was around this time last year but I haven't heard anything yet.

I'm not sure. It's a lot of work, and when I did all that work last season I was unemployed, so I had lots of time. It uses a lot of the same "grunt work" as FTB, and I'm struggling to get the time for that right now, too. The other side of getting RAMP up for distribution is, going by feedback on last years edition, only 8 to 10 people found it be a useful tool. It's a lot of work for 8 to 10 happy customers.

Thanks for your response. It's unfortulate that you may not have time to to this but I understand it must be a lot of work, especially if you are now working. I'll just need to figure out a different approach, but in any case thanks for all you work for the 2014 version as it really helped me develop my SC undertanding

I've been thinking more and more about Nic Naitanui. At first I could help but find stats in favor of selecting him, pointing out that he averaged above 120 without Cox by his side in 2014. But I have continued to dig (maybe too far) and now I may have worried myself out of selecting him on the following basis.
Players have up and down season, but rarely do they jump 20ppg to above 110ppg ave in a season. Nic has a high ceiling, and has shown that he can average 114 in a season (2012). The problem is 2011, 2013 and 2014 though where he has gone 94, 96, 91 ave. respectively.
Is Nic Nat a 110ppg player that has had some down seasons with injury and form, or is he a flashy 95 ave type player that is not worth a look? I like value as good as the next guy, but I could pay 200k less for Berger, or 80k more for Goldstein. CONFUSED!!! :/ :/ :s

I'd love to have access to the full range of AFL stats, but I don't know where to find them. I know they are kept, as you see them quoted in the media sometimes. Why keep a list of interesting, complicated stats, unless you publish them, or make them accessable for others to enjoy?
The reason I bring this up, is Rucking stats. Why can't we easily gain access to the numbers on Ruck contests attended/won, effective hitouts, and to who those effective hitouts went to? I'd love to see those stats, it would make our Ruck selection so much easier. NicNat is a case in point. In his 2012 season he was quite often (3 or 4 times a game, at least!) roving his own tap out, and often then kicking it into the Forward 50. His work below his knees in that season, for someone his height, was something to see! Was he able to do that, as he was still young, flexible, more slight of build than he is now? If so, he will never get back to that Ruckman that becomes a Ruck-Rover once the Ruck contest is over. I am pretty sure it was speed, agility, and his ability to take the ball cleanly below his knees, at good speed, that made him the SC marvel he was in 2012.
Can't we gain access to how often NicNat won the tapout in 2012 compared to how many contests he was involved in, then also see how often he roved his own tapout that season? It would be wonderful to compare all those figures to 2013 and 2014 figures! Why keep stats, if people can't access them???!!! The bottom line is, we need to be able to compare at least some of those figures (particularly % of tapouts won, and to advantage) to have a realistic chance of assessing if he can make it back to anything in the 107+ area of SC. His persistent groing injury, and just the loss of flexibility as you get older, mean he will unlikely ever be the same below knees player he was in 2012 and prior. It means he has to make up for those lost numbers by increasing his "Ruck numbers". He has the ability to do that, just to the naked eye. It would just be nice to have access to the numbers to look at, to back it up!

There's others like http://www.pro-stats.com.au/ but I'm unsure how up to date they are. For example, no H2A stats since 2011.
