Sorry for the short answers everyone.
I was just trying to get through them quickly, as I won't be here the next day and a half.
I'm off to the airport in 90 mins, and arriving in Australia in 32 hours!!!!
WooHoo!!!! :D

Hey Juzzo,
when you are running out of trades early, like you and I both are, building DPP links is very important. I like your trades as they build links, and are bringing in players that are value for money. That's the other important thing for us trade poor players! Good job. :)
Thanks bud, appreciate it.

Rowsus, if you were giving advice now for the 2016 season, how would it differ from what you would have said at the start of this season?
Hi Darkie,
I will come back to this question when I get back from Australia, as it needs a more in-depth answer than I have time for now.
Thanks Rowsus, that's fair enough! It need not be a long response if you don't think much has changed.

Enjoy your trip back home and have fun at the game!

hi row
my defence contains the following players: shaw, newes, hibberd, ox, Hamling, hodge, Edwards, a pearce.

I am looking to trade out ox for a premium defender I was thinking of simpson, bob murphy or Enright or someone else that I have thought of. I was wondering who is the best defender for their price and value going around? thanks

Have a look at Birchall for a consistent, proven pick.

Has Ablett's breakeven changed since round 3 given the magic number in the formula would have changed?

All in the older, more reliable bracket, and all good picks.

Have a look at Birchall for a consistent, proven pick.
Thanks for the help, Darkie. I'm still concerned about Birchall from a fitness point of view, but if he/you can get past that, he should be a good pick.

Technically it should have risen a little. The MN seems to have settled at a slightly high level than usual, so his B/E won't have shifted much.

Hey mate, if you get a chance can you check out my team.
I have 7 trades and 309k in the bank.
im Thinking Crippa - Armitage as a pretty big POD and for the second trade i can go:
Mckenzie - a def around 447k
or i could move mckenzie to mids and trade boston - someone under 498k
i will most likely trade boston if Mckenzie is playing this week.
who do you think i should trade in?
would love any thoughts
thanks mate

I might be stuck with loopholing a rookie at M8. Obviously this isn't ideal, but here is my situation.

I have 4 trades left, with only a mid upgrade to do. This shouldn't be hard, but I really want Gaz. And it looks like he won't be as cheap as I expected.

My rookies are Boston, Steele, Boekhorst and De Goey (Lambert in fwd line). None of them really fill you with confidence going forward.

I guess the other option for me is to forget about Gaz and get someone who is cheaper and save 2 trades. If I did, I could possibly upgrade Selwood to someone who isn't pathetic.

Here is the option summarized:

Gaz + Selwood vs JPK + Cotchin. (both leave me with no trades)

Thoughts?

Hi Row, what are your thoughts on David Armitage and his high scoring patterns?
Would love a Dayne Beams over him but alas, not enough cash!

Hi Row, hope you're enjoying your first few days back in Oz.

I posted this in trade thread but would love your opinion too. Thanks in advance!

Some advice please. I have 6 trades left and am moving Cripps to Armitage this week. It leaves me no cash and probably 1 upgrade in Oxley, however I can keep rotating him with Lumumba/Hamling.

I wonder if it's a smart move to trade Dale to Steele and free up $50k? Would allow me to move Oxley to a cheaper premo def next week, eg Gibson, leaving me with 3 trades. Or do I keep the trade (and have 5 in the bank), miss out on Steele, and ride the 3 way D6 wave!

Or do I miss Armitage and get a $400k mid? With Selwood/Wines I feel like I need a good mid to finish off rather than a risk like Rock or hot/cold like Lewis/Sidey.

Thoughts appreciated, team linked.

EDIT: Hi Rowsus, i changed my mind and went Oxley to Rance and Dale to Steele. Leaves me 4 trades, $105k. Cripps shouldn't lose money and next week i turn Cripps into best available, probably still Armitage but maybe Rocky. Sound okay?

Hi Row, I posted this in Round 15 trades thread also.

With 3 trades left is it madness to do 2 this week?
Comments appreciated

CEY to Rocky
Pearce to Maynard

I'll have a complete forward line and ruck with McKernan as backup (when martin returns)
Complete mid with poor backup
Awful defence with poor backup
Plenty of dpps to work with

Back: Laird, Yeo M/D, Simmo, Geary, B Smith, J Lever. Hambling, Adamson M/D
Mid: Fyfe, Pendles, Danger, Murphy, Selwood, Wines, Sidey, Rocky. Kav, Lambert M/F, Maynard M/D
Ruck: Blic, Martin. Read R/F
For: Martin M/F, Gray M/F, Swan M/F, Harvey M/F, Smith, Bonts M/F. Dale, McKernan R/F

Remaining salary $100

Thanks

PS I think Kav and Hambling out this week.

Hey J44,
Armitage is in over 5% of teams, maybe over 6% after this week, which represents a decent but not large POD.
Looking at a break up of his scores we get:
Wins - 129, 134, 134, 79, 154 - 5/630 - Ave 126, Ave without lowest score 138
Losses - 77, 139, 108, 137, 111, 101, 101, 104 - 8/878 - Ave 109.7, Ave without 2 lowest scores 116
Only one score in wins below 129, only 2 scores in losses above 111. It really points to he needs to play in winning sides to average 110+, and while they have improved, they might only win 2 or 3 more games, possibly less. He's well priced, for what he has produced so far, but it could probably turn out to be, you are just getting what you are paying for. Getting what you are paying for in SC sometimes is good enough.
I would probably go Boston to Murphy R, there's not a lot of reliable Defs left under $450k.

Thanks for the great insight mate, will really take this all into consideration.
At the moment I'm thinking
Boston - Docherty
And
Cripps - Armitage even with what you have said above but could change my mind

Isn't it funny? 4 months ago you never thought you'd be comparing Gaz/Jelwood with JPK/Cotch as options.
Neither are totally awe-inspiring at the moment, but given the question marks over both Gaz and Joel, the other two looking to have potentially turned a corner, I think I'd go JPK/Cotch.

I think you will get what you are paying for, and depending on the role you are hoping to fill, he could be a good pick, or a slightly disappointing pick. By that I mean, if you think he will M7/8 in your team, he will be a good pick, if you are hoping he will be M4 in your team, there a pretty reasonable chance you might be disappointed, but only a little.

Hi ****,
yes, it's been good so far. All a bit of a blur!
I'm must admit, I'm not in love with Oxley to Rance. While it only costs a little, dollar-wise, it does cost a trade, and I think you might only improve your score by 8 to 10/week. It means you might end up with less than 100 points for your trade. It's not very much, given a trade up your sleeve, and a late season injury to say a Beams, could get you a lot more than 100 points. If you can't justify getting Shaw or Laird, or want extra cash down the track, and don't want to stretch to Murphy or even possibly Ibbo, I'd be tempted to just sit on Oxley, and save the trade for now.

Hi Juzzo,
yes, that seems like madness to me. I wouldn't do it. You don't have enough JS in your team to go down to one trade and justify going CEY to Rocky. I'd hold off for now.
