Looking at it, it doesn't seem like that good of an idea.
After this week, when SJ is back, if Crouch keeps getting picked, you'll have a packed Mid Bench (Crouch with Mitchell or Rocky/Martin). It seems to be a lot of points sitting on the Mid bench, while Fwd and Def benches only look ok. The link it open up, once you put SJ back down to Fwd line, is only between Martin and Rockliff, and you have to choose between Martin, Rockliff and Mitchell as to who gets benched each week. It also won't help your Fwd line, if NicNat gets told to stop playing early, if WC fall out of contention.
You actually can't loophole Crouch and Mitchell through SJ this week. Crouch and SJ are game 8, and Mitchell is game 9. You could loophole Fyfe and Mitchell, though.
Terlich seems fine as a D6. Last week was his only glitch in a little while, and Grimes would have to have a decent question mark still hanging over his head. Take out Terlich's last game, and his previous 8 averaged 94.4! That's good enough for D6!
Doing a sideways on Buddy or NicNat seems preferable to the Priddis out option. If you think NicNat will play out the season, do Buddy, if you think NicNat will get the tap on the shoulder for early surgery/2014 preparation, do him. There are a lot of good options that won't cost you any cash.
Harvey, Walker, Gunston, Rioli, Cloke, Lewis, Mayne and Henderson, are all possibilities.
Good luck :)
yeah before you replied I had another play with it

I can also trade McEvoy for Walker or Rioli which saves the donut and gives the ruck link or Nic Nat straight to Bartel or lower priced.

LOL, I know! My fingers cramped, I got a shooting pain down my left arm, and it felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest as I wrote his name! :)
Call me crazy (I probably am) but seriously considering burning my last trade on Buddy to Cloke and covering a donut this week.

Cloke has 5 of his last 7 games at the MCG where he can go big and the pies have GC and GWS next. Expecting him to at least ton up in both weeks if not go massive.

Depends what you are going for mate. Overall ranking or league wins. I myself am going for as high a possible ranking as I can get so I am thinking of doing something similar. Not quite my last trade or trading out a planned premo but something very similar to avoid a zero

It was him or Cyril haha and i think Cyril is the riskier option of the two.

Yep same, overall is my main goal with top 1k just within reach (currently just inside top 2k). I think alot of the teams ahead of me will be facing a donut this week unless they trade so going to use it as an opportunity to gain 50-150 points. Very risky to burn my last trade this way i know but gotta take these chances when they arise imo.

The risk lso really depends on your cover. I have Nic Nat and buddy but will be moving on a fwd rookie to a non playing d/f so I am able to swing staker. If an injury occurs I will have staker/clarke, mitchell/hrovat, whoever plays last of cox,nic nat, goldie, Nicholls, rowe for ruck loophole and staker/rowe in rucks. So I am more than ok with my trade to hopefully have a gain on the top 100 this week

Yeah my cover is no where near that of yours haha. Its ok but not amazing by any stretch. Clisby, Mitchell/hrovat, Nicholls/hannath, staker/bKennedy

I can cover one donut each line just not two which I don't believe most teams will be able to except in the mids. It's what I would call a calculated risk aka last minute run at top 1000 lol.

Ps. Rowsus sorry about thread hijack :p

Sounds fine to me. But I am in a similar boat to you so if it doesn't work out we are both stuffed!

Hey Rowsus I'm back with another dilemma!

I traded Duffield two weeks ago and to be honest I wish I didn't as Jobe got injured that week! So here's my question

3 trades left and still have Watson

Should I hold or trade this week to Selwood?
I'm 108th at the moment and would like to at least finish in the top 100 with a goal of the top 50. I also have a league that I'm competitive in for money.

I have T Mitchell as cover but I'm worried that he's in for a bad game and I've heard that he was struggling before the last quarter last week. Also he's young and he might get rested too.

If Jobe was only out for 3 more weeks (4 in total) I wouldn't mind keeping him but I'm worried he'll be out for longer than that.

Thanks :)

Your side is looking pretty good.
I think I would go Watson to Selwood this week.
Now that Bennedy and XRichards are confirmed out, you get some good loopholing this week.
Make Clisby emergency, if he guns it swap Taylor and Richards. I don't think Clisby will, but you never know!
Make Griffen emergency, if he guns it swap Mitchell and Bennedy. Griffen might struggle against Haw.
No loopholes in the Ruck or Froward for you this week.
Just having the loophole capabilities, if you go Watson to Selwood, should be more than worthwhile, when you compare what Watson might do to Selwood's output, once Watson returns.
Good luck :)

edit - I've just seen that we play each other in the US Open this week! Good luck! :)

If you have $20,100 in the bank, I suggest you go Gunston instead of Cloke.
Gunston last 10 games: 90, 70, 102, 128, 107, 100, 94, 103, 104, 110 - ave 100.8, 7 100+ scores.
Cloke last 10 games: 63, 124, 36, 93, 83, 76, 128, 69, 115, 75 - ave 86.2, only 3 100+ scores.

Lacks the very occasional WOW factor of Cloke, but his consistency is gold!
I actually was going to sideways Naitanui to Gunston this week, as I think NicNat is struggling, and may miss some games soon. His B/E is too high (150), so it is trade or hold time. I'm unfortunately $1k short of getting Gunston, so I'm thinking of getting Henderson, and making the poor man's DPP link to Staker. I don't think I want to use 2 trades to get Gunston! :(

Wow gunston has been great but unfortunately I can't afford him. Funny you say Henderson I keep looking at him and I've really noticed his improvement the games I've seen him as well so I think he could be an option.

Hey Rows us,

Ended up not trading last week, probably got a little lucky with Mitchell's 2nd half.

Have been considering a few options this week.

Option 1 (radical)

Watson to Atkins ( Adel rookie $109500 M/F)
JJK or Buddy to Minson

Leaves 2 trades and $350k cash. Adel have a lot of late games which would basically allow me to loop hole Mitchell and Viney through M8

Option 2 (standard)

Watson to Jack

Buddy or JJK to Ryder

Leaves Mitchell as M9.

What do you think?

Ranked 2,200 atm.

Hey Deeman1,
Unless you plan to use that $350k next week (Thurlow to Shaw?), I wouldn't do it.

It's very risky though. You are relying on Mitchell to continue on his way, with Viney and Atkins as your Mid bench. Yes you get DPP coverage, but you'll need it.
Your bench looks like this (assuming Thurlow to Shaw, Watson to Atkins):

Def: Duffield, Brown
Mid: Viney, Atkins (+ Bartel, Martin, Rockliff)
Ruc: Gawn, McBean (+ Cox, Rowe)
Fwd: Staker, Rowe (+ Atkins)

Getting Shaw's score instead of Duffield's is probably a bigger point increase than JJK or Buddy to Ryder, so I'd probably go option 1.
If you go option 2, keep Buddy. (..... and maybe get Gunston instead of Ryder!)
Good luck. :)

Just a simple question I have mate.
If by trading Nic Nat out allows me to trade in Swan this week, would you recommend me to do so?
I will be down to 3 trades but left with a pretty much complete team (Nicholls running at R2).

MMM...if I could chip in. Last we heard Nic Nat is playing. Wouldn't trade out a playing premium. I'm looking on the positive side with him. WC seem to be revealing a bit to much, may be a bit of smoke and mirrors.

I have grave concerns about NicNat, and actually sideways'ed him to Henderson this week! (I wanted Gunston, but was $1k short!)
He's not getting to the ball or contests. He's sitting at a dangerous point right now. If you don't trade him, and he coughs up a score around 50 or 60, you nearly have to compromise on choice, or use 2 trades to "fix" him.
Nine out of ten times, Courtesans will be proven right on his "hold onto the Premium" stance. This is one case where I think I will go against him. He's just not getting possessions, and he used to average around 7 or 8 possessions just roving his own Ruckwork! Last week he had 1 possession in a half!
If NicNat out gets you Swan, then I say do it!
Good luck! :)

Always happy to hear more from different perspectives, your stance definitely has it's merits! I'm a firm believer of not trading out premiums as well.

Yours makes much sense as well. I guess it's up to my own judgement now.
Trade him or keep him, I will have to live with the consequences for the rest of the season!

Does that mean the Rowsus curse on Nic Nat is now over ? :p

I do agree with your points though, very gutsy move and I would do the same if I had more trades. I'm happy rolling Staker/Nicholls instead of him though (when SJ and Buddy are back).
