I am sorry too Pro, Given this I am wondering if it is possible to gain enough points to squeak into the top 1000 given the carnage must be felt my many teams above me, hence the thought of the one week hail mary Sandi trade.
He's worth a shot, I think. Given his general lack of match fitness, and Z Clarke missing, you'd think his TOG should be high this week. There's not many potential 150+ players for you to bring in, but he's one of them!
Go for it, especially as it doesn't harm your GF match-ups one little bit!

Argh 852 points! And then that probably doesn't take into consideration trading PODs in to try and make up points which rarely works in my experience lol.

The great thing is there's always next year and a second group of MBR's to make it that much more interesting. Although with the best 18 rule, there's possibly less strategic gain...that we know of yet :p
I actually made great ground during the MBR's this year. Even with the best 18 rule, there are Coaches that trip themselves up. I will be interested to see Dimma's summary, and how he went during the MBR's. I don't think they're the great avenue for making ground on the good Coaches anymore, or not as much as last season. I do think getting them wrong can pretty much un-do a good season, though!

This was the toughest match up I have , maybe I should look at my match in Courtesans league now before deciding on my last trade as this was my next hardest match.
If you give me the name of that other team, I can check their team, and see what I think, if you like. :)

It comes Down to how much Cash you have, and are you involved in any GF's this week?
If you are, give me the team name of your main GF opponent, and let me know how Cash you have, and I'll look. :)
I have $26,000 left.
Involved in all 5 grand finals but my main opponent is a team called hchawks.
Thanks mate!

Hi Rowsus, have 1 last get out of jail trade. Was hoping to use it to upgrade Harlett but with Fyfe out, that plan is out the window - total spend $536,000. No one is standing out. About $20-30k short of who I would like to take. In 5 gf's with 4 looking tight. Any ideas?

cheers

Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been watching the darts live from Sydney and only just came in to turn my computer off before bed.

Opponent is "Brappa's Bullies" and it would be great if you could have a quick look thanks.

I think it comes down to 4 choices.
1) Fyfe to Liberatore. Liber has scored 1033 in his last 9 games (ave 115). Griffen will get McKenzie, and Liber scored 163 against Melbourne just 9 weeks ago!
2) Fyfe to Bennell. Bennell is beating up on poor teams lately, so should go ok against GWS. Remember to loophole Mitchell.
3) Fyfe out, Walker up, Stokes in. Loophole Walker and Mitchell in the Mids. Loophole Franklin and JJK in your Fwd.
4) Hang onto the trade until you see what is happening in the Collingwood v North game. If there is going to be a major late change that affects you, I think it will be in that game. If Collingwoods position is locked in after the Saturday night games, they just may rest some players in late changes!
Good luck! :)

It is a very close match-up! From what I can see, SC Gold says there is only 4 points in it! I think the match will be decided by getting the Captain choice right, and maybe getting one or two loopholes right.
I think your best option appears to be Fyfe to Liberatore or Bennell. It's a pity you don't end up with a Mid loophole, but I think that is your best option.
Good luck! :)

From what I can see, Brappa is out of trades (an assumption I'm making, as they had a Def donut last week), and still has a Def donut. SC Gold has your 10 POD's outscoring their 9 POD's by 143. That being the case, you may as well have a crack at the jackpot, and see if you can use Sandi to get you into the top 1000!
Good luck :)

Hey Rowsus,

A big congratulations on your honorary award.

Could not go to a more worthy recipient, I always enjoy your analysis and thoughts and appreciate th advice given very much.

I managed to save my last trade last weeks as I was able to use Brown's 85 to cover Heppell. I was projected to win the two prelim's and I wanted to save the trade in case Hanley and Cotchin were late outs. As it turned out both played so I didn't need to use it (kinda wish Cotchin was so u could have traded him).

Anyway no major carnage this week luckily.

I was initially thinking I would bring in Sandi as a pinch hitter for Nicholls, but can not afford him.

Based on his average of 61 not sure that I would want him anyway, next year, pricing based on this years starting MN would make him what 340k next year. Does that make him worth a punt and at that price I would see him as a better option than McIntosh?

Anyway as I said no major carnage so this is where I'm at. 2 options:

Heppell to H Shaw (means starting Stalker and JJK in f5 & f6)

ie

Nicholls to McEvoy ( means starting Brown and JJK)

What do you think?

Favouring the Nicholls trade myself.

I am continually amazed at how often McIntosh has mentioned here already as a prospect for next season. Sandi at his projected Price is a great option to sit at R3 I reckon, using him through the loophole could be very handy!

I do like that the Nicholls trade opens up some loopholes for you, and that is useful in a one-off situation like this weekend. I'm probably leaning that way. I think I'd roll the dice on Dixon before I got Shaw, if you went that way, but there's not much in that one. I'd go the Nicholls trade.
Good luck :)

Thanks Rowsus much appreciated, I think I'll hold until Saturday and then (probably) go for it.

Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Who do you think I should captain?
Currently looking at JPK (VC) and Jelwood (C).
And why would you suggest Libba/Bennell over the likes of Danger/Griffen/Jobe? POD purposes?
Thanks for your opinion mate!

My first pick would be to put your V on Jelwood. Pendlebury and Swan both have great records against North, but I think I'd use my C on Minson (or Libba! ;)).
As to Libba/Bennell, keeping in mind this trade is for one match only, and not long term:
Libba - has averaged 114.8 since round 14. In round 14 when he last played Melbourne, he scored 163 in a losing team!
Bennell - has beaten up some average/poor teams. 119 and 121 against Bris and Melb earlier in the season, and in the last 4 weeks has gone 123, 122, 137 against WC, Melb and Port. He should be able to go big against GWS.
Dangerfield - Had a hot spell between rounds 12 and 15 with 150, 141, 136 but has only averaged 96.6 since then!
Griffen - Ridiculously hot streak between rounds 7 and 14, where he averaged 143.4! Since then he has averaged 106.0, so in the last 9 games Libba is averaging around 9 higher, and Griffen will get the McKenzie tag.
Watson - because of the great unknown, I'd avoid anybody from Essendon right now. He did score 166 earlier in the year against Richmond, and is only averaging 106.0 in his last 7, but if you take out the injury affected 24 in round 15, that jumps up to 119.7. Just too many question marks for mine.

Hi Rowsus
No trades so I'm fielding this team...

What do you think of:
VC on Selwood and C on Ablett

Are my emergencies correct and can I 'E' loophole any players?

Goddard, Murphy, Gibbs, Houli, McKenzie, Birchall (Heppell, Frost)

(c)Ablett, Pendlebury, Swan, Watson, (vc)J.Selwood, Jack, JPK, Griffen ((e)T.Mitchell, K.Martin)

Minson, Cox ((e)Grundy, Osborn)

Buddy, Bartel, Stevie J, Rockliff, Cloke, Boomer ((e)Staker, Rowe)

I think my opponent has no trades..
These are our pods:

Murphy ...... Hanley
Houli ...... Shaw
McKenzie ... Dixon
JPK ...... Dangerfield
Jack ... .. Fyfe*
Griffen ...... Priddis
Minson .... Sandilands
Cloke ..... Walker

Hi maken7,
I like the look of your POD's, and I think you hold an advantage over your opponent.
I think Jelwood is a must for the V, but I would choose out of Pendles, Swan or Minson for your C.
Your loophole options are very limited. You have no loophole capability in Def or Ruck, and very limited loopholes in Mid and Fwd.
Your Mid loophole is set up correctly with the E on Mitchell. Where you are limited is, say Mitchell scores 110. Who are you going to sit on the bench to bank that score? Watson? He scored 166 earlier in the year against Richmond. You nearly need a 125+ from Mitchell before you bank him!
I think the best set up for your Fwd loophole is to shift Buddy to the bench, and put the E on him, and put Rowe on the ground. Buddy has struggled against Sydney in the past. If you like Buddy's score more than Staker's potential score (I'd bank anything over 70!), then leave Rowe on the ground. If you don't like Buddy's score, swap Rowe and Staker.
Good luck, bring home the Cup! :)

The more I look at it, the more it makes sense to trade Libba in against Melbourne.
Think I will do just that!
Will put the VC on Jelwood also...
