Could only watch the first QTR and a bit of the Giants v Crows game today. Had 4 players in it.
Green 39
Laird 29
Dawson 29
Callaghan 29

Oh sweet, great start! Want a 130 from you Laird, Perryman injured, should be easy enough. Green 115 bud. Dawson 110 from you thanks. Callaghan, ah I’ll take an 80, 50 in 3 quarters is pretty easy.

When I get the chance I scroll through fanfooty (after all the games had been played today).
Green 134, YES! Callaghan 101, I knew it! Dawson 97, eh, not the worst. Scrolling, 90’s… 80’s… 70’s… huh? Did I miss Laird, go back to the top… where is he? Did he get injured? Scrolling again 60’s… 50’s then:

*** 50 POINTS FROM MY CAPTAIN!!! 21 POINTS IN 3 QUARTERS!!! THAT’S EMBARRASSING!!!

To name a few: Jack Buckley, Daniel Lloyd, Miller Bergman, Kayne Turner and Bodie F****** Uwland scored more points than him!

What actually happened to him. Did he get swung forward or something? 77% TOG so no major injury. Or was he just genuinely THAT bad.
That bad. Just. That. Bad.

Absolutely love this, freaking hilarious but it's exactly what I did while scrolling through the scores

Fully agree, not a mistake at all just a really poor choice. He should be charged the same as if Joe Bloggs from Smalltownville did the same thing. The difference being Joe’s big night out doesn’t make national news and nobody ever finds out or gives a crap it happened to begin with.

Drug possession stays on your record for 10 years in Australia unless it leads to a jail sentence which makes it permanent as far as I know.

Stupid kids do stupid things, hopefully this is enough to set him, and perhaps some others, on the straight and narrow.
Just saw this thread....

One of my friends was amongst the first in Victoria to get done for driving under the influence of ecstacy. No conviction, even though she'd only just got her license back from a drink driving bust. Another mate got done for possession a few years later.

She was a project officer at a big 4 bank and he's in IT. Neither did time or registered a conviction which is lucky for her since she wound up needing to work in Singapore down the track.

All either of them had to do was some diversionary course and the woman lost her license again. Anyone who thinks you cop a conviction for small time possession (especially when you're a white professional) is talking out their arse.

I had one dealer out Essendon way around the Underbelly era who had the police rock up on his door step one night to warn him that he was getting too big for his boots. No arrest, let alone conviction. I have an ex-mate from uni days who avoided conviction on a cultivation and trafficking charge last year basically because he was asleep when he got raided and was able to convince the judge that he didn't know the 20 kilos of bagged up weed was there on the farm with him. He was also done with pills, powder and a couple of firearms and didn't get time, though it's fair to say that his career as a local politician is probably over! He did get a conviction on an animal cruelty charge this year though so that should give you an idea on how seriously the justice system takes drugs charges in the grander scheme of things.

I love how this game has us assured of our selections prior to round one….

we then see the carnage at the selection table with rookies we’re thought certainties don’t start….

then by the third game we want to press cancel or change our entire team and structure!!!!
Sounds like a normal SC Year ;)
Then by the byes we are rocking back n forth in the corner screaming for momma! :p

A minor rant to start rnd 2 - why do the male presenters wear suits and ties? Who wears that s..t to the footy? What would be lost if they wore casual gear? Maybe the average punter would not think they were experts?
Im with on that, why not follow footy team ethos and wear C7 polos or like.
Would probably make them more relatable! (Ok that last line isn’t true! 😂😂😂)

I deserve everything I get.
Traded Grundy for Gawn. Just my ****ing luck. Whole reason I never chose Gawn in the first place, let alone ****ing sideways.

Top it off I tipped Melbourne. It’s 10 games into the season and **** I am pissed off.
Yeah... when your 3rd most unique player scores a zero as the best case, feels great.

So ready to delete already this season. If season was 99.9% done last week, we can safely round it up now.
Let the emotion pass. It almost feels good to be able to watch the game and not be too concerned from a SC perspective. I've got Gawn also, but just remember you guys are all in good leagues where every team still counts to winning the overall. It's round 2, it presents an opportunity next week that most won't have, sucks, yes, but like I was saying about Stewart owners, better now than later in the season.

I only watch footy for SC so it ruins it entirely

I wont forsake the team because of leagues but season is over so probably wont bother watching much footy from here on out.

I hear ya, thought Gawn was a nice pod at 11%, when something like that happens first game first quarter, it makes me feel very flat for the whole weekend now, oh well, I did pretty well in my Golf Fantasy game round 1 this week :)
This SC season so far reminds me of a few years back where I copped 17 injuries in one season, was behind the 8-ball right to the death.

Don't mention the Golf - I left 45 points on the bench in Rd 1.

Annoyed about SC as well, but luckily I am not running my own official team this year, just the combined team. I have Gawn in my team(s) I am updating via spreadsheet, and finding that frustrating - at least we dodged that bullet with the combined team. Definitely going to run out of trades early in one of my unofficial teams, but that happens every year.

I saw that, re: your bench, keep doing things like that...I need to catch up to you somehow ;) every time I do you seem to pull away again.

Seasons not over, c’mon, Steve Bradbury shows anything is possible
That got me thinking, so if people really think their season is done at the start of round 2, to do a Bradbury, everyone else needs to fall over.

In a Supercoach sense, how can everyone else fall over while you stay up? By betting against the popular picks that make 90% of our teams the same...

If you truly feel like it's game over and you don't want to watch football, maybe sideways those guys with 50+ % ownership and give yourself a chance of doing a Bradbury.

I recognise this is terrible advice. Just musing on the concept of doing a Bradbury in Supercoach.
