It would be interesting to know what people's projections or what they hope their players will average..
Therefore you can make a rough guess on your total round 1 score..

I had a go at this the other day, and came up with 2,241. This was based on my own season-average predictions for my keepers, 130 for my captain, and 60-75 for rookies (with no loopholing).

I gather that may be somewhat high by historical standards, so I may be being overly optimistic, or it might be because there is quite a lot of value in the players I've picked (Ablett, Rocky, Libba etc).

An earlier version of my team was about 2250, but it is now closer to 2220 as I have removed some mid price value picks and moved towards a pure GnR structure. Also reduced a few ave estimates.

I'm a bit more realistic so around 2100-2175max

If you can get 500def/950mids(inc C)/225ruck/500fwd at the start I think you would be going great guns

Def 100,100,90,70,60,50 (470)
Mid 240,120,120,100,100,100,80,60 (920) Im currently running Fyfe,Danger,Pendles,GAJ,Rocky,Libba,Crouch,Rookie
Ruck 125,100 (225)
Fwd 100,100,90,70,60,50 (470)

Is what id be hoping ill be getting Cant expect everyone to be scoring tops each and every week some will be down a little and some up so looping will still play a big roll

Solid team Bloke, love the selection of Priddis, I think he might be someone I run with in my initial team too.

Would love to hear your thinking behind locking in Sandi? You see him playing the full year and at a high level?

Gidday Matt, and welcome to the site.

Let's start with structure first. Running through these various pages you should have noted that most are looking for betwen 12-15 "keepers" from their starting line up, with break up usually being 3/0/5 or 4/0/4 in Def (Premium keepers/mid price/rookies). 5/0/6 or 5/1/5 ,ids. 2/0/1 or 1/0/1 Rucks and various options in the FWD line, but usually a minimum of 3 keepers there. Also. where Dual Position players are in the team, they are usually NOT in the mids (as mids score higher and you are costing yourself a higher scoring player). so Craig Bird as an example, if you were to start him, should be in the fwd line

Guns and Rookies, mid pricers, combinations. You appear to be in the latter category, but I suggest it's not by choice.

Rookies - most are placeholders at the moment, and once we are informed by the NAB cup, a lot will change!

You need players who are consistently on the park, and NOT injury prone. McGovern, Smedts, Mumford and even Rioli are a risk in this regard. Most of teh rookies you start should be named Round 1. There are machinations for floating donuts etc, but that's for later iterations :)

You need players that are SuperCoach friendly, ie they score points! You may like Crowley as an option, but is he likely to score points? There are many better options available. Gibson is likely to be a key defender this year with the loss of Lake. Will that impact his scoring ability? More than likely!

There are valuable resources available on this forum. Read through the Fwd, Dwf, mid and ruck threads, as well as this thread. I bet your next attempt will be more SuperCoach friendly.

Given the limited number of trades it's more important to get your starting side as right as possible.

Good luck.

PS - I did not win SC last year, so I clearly don't have all of the answers. I didn't come 280 thousandth either

Sandi will play the full year (injuries allowing). He just seems to keep getting better and more durable with age and he can't help but score well. But really it came down to Rowsus analysis (http://www.supercoachscores.com/threads/2766-Rowsus-Tables-And-Analysis-Of-2015-Season/page3). Still happy to swap him out though.

I know he's just a place holder

hi bloke
really good team. one of the best i have seen. i would suggest to read rowsus write up regarding priddis. i personally think he will be a good upgrade target. i really like the harvey pick and in particular the sandi pick. i dont recall seeing a lot of teams with sandi but he has been very consistent. i would assume that martin, jacobs, goldi will be in the top 3 rucks. i am curious if you are considering side trading/upgrading nicnat or sandi to one of those ruckmans?

I'll be honest, I haven't put a lot of thought into my rucks. They seem to be the area I struggle ever year because you really can't go guns and rookies. Sandi is sort of my dark horse - unlikely to score as high as say Goldy or Jacobs but is a point of difference. If one of them has a bad week chances are Sandi will still get a solid 100-110.

NicNat I'm not sure on. Looks a bit cheapish for what he can produce but whether or not he will is another story. Problem is I can't really afford anyone better. Can't even stretch to Mummy. Might be able to squeeze a bit of cash somewhere and start Jacobs but I'll have to play around a bit.

For the record I hadn't considered side trading but for someone like Sandi that could be an option

EDIT: I'll have a read of Rowsus write up, bit perhaps Priddis down to JPK and NicNat to Jacobs or something like that

My latest team.

Some points:

Rookies, for the most part, are placeholders.

Some people have raised the issue that I have barely any salary cap room for more expensive Rookies; if I need spending money; I will most likely sacrifice Liberatore.

Kurt Tippett's spot in the team is dependent on his role at the Swans.

If possible, I will look to go into the season with no loophole option.

Thanks for the feedback Rickwood, much appreciated!

Will go back to the drawing board and see what I can come up with.
