Hi Everyone , first team for the year so pick it apart for me and tell me if i'm in the ballpark please. Don't know to much about the rookies this year so any hints would be greatly appreciated thx.

D: Simpson, Yeo, Malceski , A.Otten , M Brown, Hartley (K Collins, A.McDonald Tipu...)
M: Fyfe, Pendles, Gaz, Danger , Rocky , Libba, Kerridge, Gresham ? (Petracca ,Woodward ,Hibberd)
R: Goldy , Sandi, (Cox)
F: Dusty, Dahl, Barlow, Wells , Thomas , Grimley (Phillips , Adams)

Rookies all subject to change and really wanted Rocky in but how to do it with only $500 left in kitty ????

Changed to include Rocky

I'd go Hogan and Thomas out, move Wells and Petracca into the forward line and pick up Rockliff and a rookie in the middle for their spots mate

Move Wells forward. Then make Hogan & Aish become Rocky, a rookie and cash.

Trengrove, Gresham, Jansen, Mathieson, Dunkley are possibilities. Pick the highest price as a placeholder for now.

Honestly, we're all guessing to a certain extent regarding rookies right now. Wait til NAB, see who does what.

RE: Eagling.

I am frightened to go up against you and that midfield. If they are all fit and firing, 140+ scores from each player in one round wouldn't be too surprising.

It's been awhile guys and gals.
The latest squad loaded with TTHD players. (Training The House Down).
While everyone seems to be training the house down, I've been searching club websites to monitor players. There is a few that have some nice reports including Malceski, Cunningham, Gresham, Dahlhaus, Buddy and Wells.

H Shaw, J Bartel, B Smith, N Malceski, MW Brown, J Wagner.
(M Hartley, N Broad.)

S Pendlebury, G Ablett, T Rockliff, O Wines, T Liberatore, B Crouch, B Kennedy, J Gresham.
(B Fiorini, D Cunningham, R Mathieson.)

T Goldstein, M Lobbe. (S Grimley.)

D Martin, L Dahlhaus, M Barlow, L Franklin, D Wells, S Kerridge.
(C Petracca, H Balic.)

Team set until the Nab Challenge, looking forward to see some rookies play.
Looking at Balic as the flonut to loophole Gaz in the first 2 rounds as Freo play after GC. (The M King's wont help for the first 2 weeks).
May even consider starting 2 donuts to cover other rookies.

Thoughts welcomed.

Creeker - is that David Cuningham from CAR or Harry Cunningham from SYD? If the later, then he's a bit expensive to be sitting on your bench ;)

Another one you missed from your TTHD theme is Corey Ellis.

That would be Carlton's David Cunningham mate. Some wraps out there on him.
Ellis is an interesting one - will monitor him.

This is a bit clever. :)

Edit: Noticed GC play Freo in round 2 but I still quite like the idea.

Edit Edit: This play allows you to pick a brisbane flonut with 7 Ablett VC opportunities before the byes compared to Freo with 5. Hammelman, Skinner and Clayton could be used.

Hard to fault Creeker. I count 12 keepers, with upgrades possible for Buddy and/or Smith if they don't cut it. If I was being harsh, I would say that could be on the low-side, as you would want one more. To me that would be downgrading Shaw and upgrading Malceski, but you like those two for a reason.

However, you have plenty of opportunities to make upgrades across each line if the mid-pricers increase as you expect.

You only have 4 rookie priced players on field which limits any early downside risk you would hope.

Really solid team overall.

Hi guys. Running this with a focus on having a solid backline ...

B: Kolo, Bartel, Yeo, Ibbotson, Duryea, Byrne, M.Brown, Hartley
M: Ablett, Sloane, Titch, Neale, Rockliff, Simpkin, Trengove, Kerridge, Lovell, Polkinghorne, Hibberd
R: Nicholls, Lobbe, Wyatt
F: Martin, Dahlhaus, Gunston, Barlow, Cockatoo, Petracca, Grimley, Tippa

So going a bit different to everyone else through the mids by not running either Libba or Crouch. Rucks a risk but it was only 2 seasons ago that Lobbe averaged 100 and was pre-Ryder. Hoping sans Ryder again can get him to nearly that mark again. Trengove will be swapped out before Rd 1 if he doesn't look like playing early.

Santoz, one of the few strategies that I've seen so far which entails going light in the Rucks in order to bolster the DEFS/FWDS. It's a nice POD strategy with the clear and present danger that you drop 30-40 points in the Ruck at the beginning of the season. You would like to think though that your back line for instance would recoup a lot of those points. Also a POD midfield so fair bit of risk and reward in your team. Overall I like it !

Here's my latest brainwave. I call it Minson madness, and before anyone calls me crazy I see it as another version of teams with Lobbe in it. Why not Minson instead of Lobbe ? He has more runs on the board than Lobbe and I just don't see why so many people rate Lobbe. Minson is also a sole ruck man with a gun clearance midfield at his feet.

B: Laird, Bartel, Malceski, Brown, Broad, Hartley, Hibberd, Wagner
M: Ablett, Fyfe, Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Rockliff, Mitchell, Crouch, Petracca, Gresham, Keays, Dunkley
R: Goldstein, Minson, King
F: Franklin, Barlow, Tippett, Wells, Simpkin, Kerridge, Adams, Hunt

Interesting choice of Minson. With Tippett there too potentially you have an "out" if it fails and he gets dropped. My main issue is that your mids are too deep with 6 keepers and a midpricer at M7. I'd try add another keeper to your forwards or backs. But do I like Fyfe and Danger in the mids, and Mitchell as a bit of a POD.

That is my exact midfield at the moment except Libba for Crouch.
