Def: Shaw, Laird, Houli, Sheridan, Dea, Adams (M Brown, Ruggles)
Mid: Fyfe, Danger, Ablett, Rocky, Wines, Libba, B Crouch, Mills (R Clarke, B Keays, R Davis)
Ruck: Goldy, Gawn (Wyatt)
Fwd: Barlow, Hall, Wells, Kerridge, Menadue, Kennedy (AMT, Grimley)
30k in the bank

Not sure if I'm riding with too many mid pricers or not but just not confident in the rookies this year (midfield especially). Thinking this a high risk sort of team but if my mid pricers pay off and a few of them turn into keepers then I should be in good shape. (Though I only see 12 proven keepers in the team atm which probably isn't ideal)

Thoughts?

I feel this may be my best team yet. I am not impressed in many defence rookies at all this year so i bat pretty deep in defence

Defence- Shaw, Laird, Bartel, Smith, Sheridan, Weitering (Adams and Uebergang)

Midfield- Fyfe, Danger, Gaz, Rocky, Cripps Mills, Oliver, Kerridge (Greesham, Hewett and Davis)

Ruck- Goldy and Gawn (Chol)

Forward- Barlow, Hall, Wells, Benken, Menadue, McCarthy (Brown and AMT)

$38.3k in the bank

Im really liking this double swing set between fwd and def

All thoughts appreciated

Amazing how all teams are picked from such a shallow pool of players this year, Premiums and Rookies alike. There's really no more than about 40 players being considered in most teams on the site this year.

Plan your trades gents, going to be more important then ever this year.

I think that is it's why it's important to start with more of the sure things over the speculative picks.

Trades being important, i'd rather be able to jump on the flyers than deal with the non-breakout AND trade in the stars.

Fourth team let it rip boys and girls , getting down to take off , all thoughts appreciated

D: Shaw, Simpson, Bartel, Smith , Weitering, Brown , ( Hartley Adams, Broad)
M: Fyfe, Gaz, Danger, Pendles, Rocky , Libba, Mills, Kerridge (Hibberd, Gresham, Davis)
R: Goldy, Martin (Cox /Chol)
F: Dusty, Barlow, Moore, Wells, Menadue, McCarthy (AMT, Grimley)

Rookies still may change but ok with the rest , forwards think Moore will do well have had Gault in majority but think Moore goes forward and plays defence as well and marks a lot of footy.
Only disappoint is $2400 left in Kitty after udating to Moore from Gault

here is my latest edition to my team

def: shaw, houli, bartel, weitering, brown, hartly, adams, ruggles

mid: fyfe, pendles danger, ablett, rockie, oliver, mills, kennedy, gresham, keays, davis

ruck: goldie, gawn loresch

fwd: martin, barlow, hall, wells, kerridge, mccarthy, meadue, amt

i have gone with a thin defence due to i dont see sheridan being a keeper and weitering may generate more cash however i may change my mind.

It will be awesome if people can provide feedback

Hi JMLP

I am starting to see a lot of teams with the big midfield and thin forwards. its different to previous years but i dont mind it. the team looks good. your mids are very deep. i personally would downgrade crouch to a oliver so you can generate more cash and move grimley to the rucks and remove wyatt for another rookie. overall pretty good team

hi johnsy
you have a deep defence which i dont think is needed. i would downgrade smith to a rookie.

mids look really good. i dont know if cripps will produce the same or better numbers this year but he certainly played well on the weekned. the fwd line is very good.

Hi Bloke , FT here my only query is how many from Dea , Brown and Hartley will actually play , and will Kommer play consistently as i think there are better options than him , food for thought and good luck as i have the same problem in a way in defence

Am I mad for considering Goldstein down to Gawn
( who will still average 105) to allow to bring in Oliver into the rookie mids?

This allows menadue to be forward with McCarthy on the bench. Also gives me dollars in the bank for rookie upgrades

Well, you are going to need to pump some more cash into your rookies from somewhere. MacPherson won't play and you don't have enough cash left to turn him into someone that will. Stand by Goldy mate. If I was you and looking to free up cash, I'd be looking at turning Pendles into a value selection between 500-580k. Consider the likes of Treloar, Shiel, Parker, Adams and Wines.

Hi Macca, depends on what you have Goldy averaging,

lets say Goldy - 120 (He wouldn't be in your side if you thought under 120)

Gawn - 105 = 15 point loss

Oliver - 70 ??

McCarthy 60?? = 10 point gain, so roughly 5 points per game worse off & no Goldy (although I dont have Goldy ATM) & he might continue 130 ave.

Calculated risk taken-Mmmm, maybe not.
Cannot fault the team, almost every selection offers a sense of security and promise. However, despite being a VERY, VERY solid team, I'd like you to take on 1, maybe 2 potential breakout players as PODs. Hall in the forward line would seem like a good start. Personally I'd downgrade Shaw to a mid 400k defender, downgrade Pendlebury to a Wines type, in order to upgrade Kennedy to Hall. Good luck!!

Thanks Prochard, appreciate your thoughts- have since downgraded pendles to wines which also allowed me to bring in Hewett. Will continue to tinker.
