Really strange one this, the Hawks social media team has announced it, but I'm told he hasn't actually re-signed yet.

After the delay in getting him a contract for next year to begin with, post the trade period a couple of other teams have come to him with offers (including NTH), which has seen his manager drag out the negotiations between all parties. Be interesting to see what happens, even though it won't play out in the media, I suspect he stays at the Hawks and moves to the rookie list per the media release, but its strange that they've announced it publicly when he hasn't actually re-signed yet.

The AFL has confirmed the Mid-Season Draft will return in 2021 as a one-night event in early June

HE AFL has committed to a single Mid-Season Rookie Draft next year, ditching a proposal for multiple 'waiver'-style periods throughout the season.

Clubs received confirmation on Tuesday that the Mid-Season Rookie Draft would return on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, after being put on hold this season due to COVID-19.

It will take on the same format as the 2019 model that saw 13 players selected, including Richmond's Marlion Pickett who went on to win a premiership just four months later.

Much like the Mid-Season Draft, clubs must have a list spot open following the Rookie Draft or have moved a player to the inactive list in order to add a player in the window.

For example, Adelaide will be forced to re-draft retired defender Bryce Gibbs due to administration purposes around his payout for 2021. The Crows will be allowed to immediately move Gibbs to the inactive list and add a player via the SSP.

Surely there will be alot of elite talent picked up that didn't get to showcase their potential this year. Going to be some steals and potential poachers at the end of the season. Someone like a Bontempelli who didn't blossom until his draft year could be an awesome pick up. Should be a good year in SC again.

COLLINGWOOD premiership player Tyson Goldsack is on the verge of making a shock AFL comeback, more than a year after retiring.

The 33-year-old has nominated for next week's NAB AFL Draft and Rookie Draft.

According to News Corp, the Power are considering putting Goldsack on their rookie list for 2021 as they seek to atone for their heartbreaking preliminary final loss to Richmond this year. https://www.afl.com.au/news/527261/retired-premiership-pie-in-line-for-shock-afl-return-with-power

Meanwhile, former No.1 pick Paddy McCartin, who sat out the 2020 season as he dealt with complications of multiple concussions suffered during his time at the Saints, has also nominated for the draft.

The quirkiest nomination goes to former Gold Coast and Carlton tall Daniel Gorringe, who played the last of his 26 AFL games in 2016.

Nominated Sutcliffe as the "marquee" player for the SANFL , so they will rookie list Goldsack so he can play SANFL as well (some ruling where they can't have played AFL in the last 2 seasons , so he & Sutcliffe can't be on the SANFL list together) , then act as insurance for the AFL team as well.

That's according to 7 News tonight.

Thought something was behind it but thought it was probably going to be a sneaky way of paying him to coach coming out of different budgets.
