I'm also be wary about Ross Lyon or any recycled coach. Recycled coaches rarely win Flags these days.

In fact the last Premiership coach to have started their senior coaching career at another Club was Mick Malthouse back in 2010. And prior to that you then go back to Leigh Matthews with Brisbane.
I think any Melbourne prize later this September will have the Paul Roos DNA imprinted on it. I think St Kilda have been a little unlucky...through no fault of the coach.

Many people will forget, that when we drafted Oliver it was a big surprise he went that early. It was Roos' eye that did it!
He said afterwards we were drafting a footballer, not an athlete. There's too much emphasis on the kids being good athletes, and not enough emphasis on them being footballers.
Weitering, Scache and Mills taken before him. Parish and Francis just after him.
I'm happy with our choice!

I recall in the lead up to that draft most pundits were expecting Melbourne to take Parish with that pick and not the chubby red headed kid who'd had some OP issues IIRC.

So much of the draft is about sliding doors moments. What would have happened if Melbourne had taken Parish? Where would Clarry have ended up? I've always wondered whether the Bombers had their eye on him. It's certainly taken a lot longer for Parish to get to that elite level. He's still no Oliver but I'd say he finally made it to elite status this year.

From what I was told Yes they did. Rated Parish over Oliver at the time but would have taken Oliver if Melbourne took Parish.

Goes back to 2015 draft and has a look, yeah, Oliver (4) is the clear masterstroke. The top 5 are pretty good, I mean picks 1, 3, 5 are very solid, they're almost as good as pick 25 and only just better than pick 66. The top 10 KPF gambles seem to be going okay, top 20 look fine. Not going to say any GCS picks were bad given the envrionment was probably good enough to ruin anyone but Gaz.

So you're still wondering, okay: Josh Dunkley (25), Menegola (66).

ADELAIDE'S Matt Crouch has been wiped off the list of available restricted free agents after committing to a new two-year deal to remain with the Crows.

AFL.com.au understands Crouch signed a fresh extension on Friday that will tie him to the club until the end of 2023.
