Interesting. They are willing to take a 33 yo injury prone ruckman that has limited ability around the ground (around the ground ability seems to be a requirement these days) and who has played 8 games in two seasons. Clearly at his best is a quality ruckman but can he get back to that. Would he be in the squad purely for "break glass in emergency" reasons or actually taking up one of the bench spots each game as the chop out (assuming five bench spots next season)? And if the latter is this Grundy 2.0? And does this mean anyone thinking Gawn would be back to single ruck next season and a lock as such, now needs to reassess? Stay tuned for the answers to these and other yet to be thought up exciting questions.

I read it as he was heading to Melbourne to give the # 9 jumper to Harley Reid šŸ¤”

Maybe as Nic Nat is a ruckman, he is preparing on presenting it to Archer Reid who at 203cm could nearly be a ruck? ;)
That could be a option as well (I had better Google Archer Reid though)

Maybe a spelling mistake to throw the other clubs off and they are going for Ethan Read
Definitely Harley Reid.
That's what I gathered from reading what Lachy Reid wrote šŸ˜€
Who's on first ;)

ESPN have Archer Reid going at 33 to Richmond , need to pay attention now and see if he gets drafted by anyone.
I wasn't serious, it's definitely referring to Harley. Archer is a reasonable shot to get drafted at some point for teams wanting a tall forward (Richmond does make sense).

It would be funny if the Eagles accidentally picked the wrong one, but it won't happen.

I never even knew about Archer.

Didn't that happen years ago a club called out the wrong players number or something ?

Have a Broken Hill lad who has been mixed up in the Giants Academy Squad be curious to see if he gets drafted , Bryce Langdon is his last name , talked to him about this Harley Reid , reckons he is twice as good as the rest of the U18 kids when he played against him a few times over the years

Geez throw the whole draft into chaos if they skipped on him altogether (won't happen) , be funny seeing all the recruiters scrambling around "who do we pick now"

Then I have missed the gist of his tweet altogether, thinking the "Reiding the play" was a play on the name of Lachy Reid:sleep:

No doubt all of you smart buggers could see that clearly from the start :sneaky:

Where as I...... well it was a big night last night.

Apparently, Alastair Clarkson is 'infatuated' with Curtin.

After losing Ben McKay to Essendon in the trade period, North Melbourne are also said to be very interested in Curtin, who could help bolster their key position stocks.
Kangaroos coach Alastair Clarkson has flown over to Perth to meet with the West Australian product and is believed to be ā€œinfatuatedā€ with Curtin.
ā€œAlastair Clarkson, he has become a little infatuated with Dan Curtin I believe,ā€ footy journalist Ryan Daniels said on Triple M.
ā€œThereā€™s a lot of interest from North Melbourne. I think thatā€™s where this is heading. Dan Curtinā€™s going to end up at North Melbourne.ā€
Hawthorn premiership player Xavier Ellis said: ā€œI would like thereā€™s more relevance (for North Melbourne) getting a spine (key position player) than a midfielder like Harley Reid.
I wonder if thereā€™s any chance this is a ploy to extract West Coastā€™s future first round pick (which could be pick 1) in a trade that secures Curtin for the Eagles.

There are rumors that Clarkson's visit with Curtin is just a decoy for his real purpose in visiting... Meeting another player like Lance Collard maybe? Who might be in the running for one of North's late first rounders.

Would be the perfect excuse everyone thinking he's here to meet Curtin when he's in fact here to meet with another player that North want to keep quiet.

Or he could really just be "infatuated" with Dan Curtin and really want him at North.

The team with the biggest need for the Eagles future 1st rounder is Adelaide... to secure local gun Sid Draper next year, Doing a pick trade tomorrow is about the only way they will have a chance to get him next year.

I think Dan Curtin is going to turn into a very fine player... it's just a matter of what position he settles into (midfielder like he sees him self or 3rd tall defender) but I really don't want the Eagles doing any trade that involves our future first to get him. There is a group of 4-5 very good looking midfield prospects next year who would compliment our midfield group much better and I believe we will be looking to trade in or get our key defenders via Free agency in the next few seasons.

Going to be a fun night seeing it all shake out.

Demons coming very hard late at the Hawks Pick 4. They want to get Nick Watson, offering up Pick 6 and a Future 1st.

Iā€™m hoping the Hawks give it serious consideration, providedā€¦

A) Duursma was already taken and off the board
B) Curtain could be taken at Pick 6

Also have had some mail for a few days that NTH wonā€™t bid on Walter at all. Doesnā€™t make much sense as it would assist GCS in matching all their bids, will be interesting to see if that eventuates or not.
