I know it doesn't really matter now

but the point still stands especially if your that 15 grand short of a premium

edit:found out matt mcguiness is a 102k back :D

Personally I sometimes choose rookies that are dearer than I expect to select purely to prevent me from spending cash that I may not ultimately have :p

I know it's early but Brander sounds like he may have had a set-back to his preseason.
Yeah not much to go on but reports from yesterday's closed training session are that he was only walking laps and not taking part in any onfield action. Wasn't even jogging so the suspicion is it's a strain of some sort. Will update when I hear anything further. Hopefully it's not serious.

is it really worth paying the extra 15 grand for comben over Conroy?

unfortunately at the moment I have had to have Conroy instead
Yep. The extra looping is worth points and you never know where a good R/F could come from. If Marshall goes down then Ryder is the main ruck. If Goldstein goes down Campbell could be a good cash cow. If Gawn goes down Preuss could be the man at Melbourne. Have we seen a healthy Patton as the number 1 target?
The only chance I don't start Comben is if a good cheap R3 shows up and then I'll be looking for a flonut somewhere else.

I still thinking handcuffing Darcy Cameron to Grundy isn't a bad option, by all accounts Cameron is going well at training but so is Cox.

Trouble is you lose the Grundy VC

One of the reasons I have Comben is because he's R/F, if a good, cheap R3 shows up then I'll just flick Comben to the Fwd bench.

@Lost In The Sky

Happy 2020...!

Do you have any scouting report or view on how Anthony Treacy is tracking during the preseason...?
Not a great deal of news coming out about Treacy so far.

West Coast have had their first year players separated at times during training whilst the main group of players do match sim work, but I assume that is normal.

First thoughts are that it will be hard for him to get a debut, but Jarrod Cameron managed to do it last year though when pre-season it was thought he was a bit behind and had some work to do to get up to the level required... So it is possible.

With Rioli out, there is a spot up forward... But there is quite a few guys trying to get that spot. Cameron with a year under the belt would be leading the pack, but Venables is coming along nicely from his concussion issues, Petruccelle will also be looking to lock down a regular spot and we also have Kelly to integrate so one of our mids is likely going to have to spend time forward. So competition is fierce in what should be a premiership contending team.

Gut feel is Treacy will find it a bit hard to get a game, but he is blistering quick and oozes X-factor so a few good WAFL games could see him given a shot. I don't think he will be SC relevant though... But excited to have him on the list.

Unless you have other donut options, which without even planning you do.

I see Bailey Williams is listed as a defender in SC... isn't he a chance to get games this year in the ruck if Hickey or NicNat miss?
Yeah he is a good shot of getting a few games I reckon as second ruck or up forward. Hearing Oscar Allen may spend a fair bit of time down back which frees up a spot up forward for a tall, hopefully Brander (if Fit).

Young Harry Edwards developing nicely as a tall defender too. We sure do know how to draft and develop our talls.

Thanks mate.. tbh I wasnt that impressed with Oscar in defence last year but it would be handy to have both him & Brander capable of switching as required

If Allen and Brander are both playing... Both have the ability to swing and play as either a FWD or a DEF. That's very handy in games.
