I'd say most of the rookies who played at some stage during NAB but didn't play NAB3 will not be named to play round 1.

Clarke, Keays, Hunt and Howard to name a few.

RICHMOND will blood Daniel Rioli, a member of one of football’s most famous families, in the season opener against the Blues.

The 18-year-old will be joined in the side by former GWS player Jacob Townsend in what will be the only newcomers to the Tigers.

Rioli, the club’s first round draft pick from last year, has been selected to make his AFL debut despite a modest NAB Challenge, as the Tigers cover for a number of injuries.

Brett Deledio, Ivan Maric, Shaun Grigg are all missing, but Shaun Edwards has recovered from a shoulder injury to take his place in the side. Deledio is likely to miss the Round 2 clash with Collingwood.

Carlton will field five first-time Blues, including No. 1 draft pick Jacob Weitering, in Brendon Bolton’s first match in charge.

Former Crows Sam Kerridge and Matt Wright and ex-Giant Jed Lamb will join Weitering, but fellow first-round pick Charlie Curnow is likely to be named an emergency. Ruckman Andrew Phillips is also in the mix.

The Blues say skipper Marc Murphy is a certain starter, having trained strongly this week in his comeback from off-season shoulder surgery.

Townsend has been included for the Tigers to provide a much-needed body in the midfield, supporting Trent Cotchin, Brandon Ellis and Dustin Martin.

Rioli was recruited with pick No. 15 from the North Ballarat Rebels and is the cousin of Hawthorn’s Cyril.

Rioli will wear the No. 17 jumper also worn by great uncle Maurice.

Have we heard anything on Ryan Clarke recently???

Is he a chance for round 1??
Ryan Clarke and Corey Wagner have been the most eye-catching with the duo recruited along with Ben McKay, Mitchell Hibberd and Declan Mountford in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft.

"It is going to be a challenge for those boys to push into our final 22 just based on some of the senior players that are available for selection, but we're really enthusiastic about their future," Scott said.

FREMANTLE skipper David Mundy says there should be no concerns over star trio Matthew Pavlich, Nat Fyfe and Michael Johnson heading into Sunday's clash with the Western Bulldogs after all three were on limited duties at training on Wednesday.

Pavlich did a running session away from the main group in the early part of training at Fremantle Oval while Fyfe and Johnson only made brief appearances on the track.

Mundy said all three were set to play against the Bulldogs in the Dockers' season opener.

C.Ellis! An option there at least. But who goes out for Grigg & Deledio in Round 2 though?

I know it doesn't mean anything at all but seeing Ellis named on the ball makes me want to pick him.

Think Tigers fans would say Morris is first out the door, but not sure about the second. Know it's basically meaningless but I can't help reading into their placing him right there in the centre square.
