I really want Tom Stewart and think he is a great buy at his current price.

One issue... he shares a bye with Answerth, Moore, Hore and Lloyd who I have all of in my defense right now...

Should I wait until after that week if I want him in or expect that Moore and Answerth will be gone by then anyway?

If I were you (and I have all the same players) I would be planning on trading hore and Moore before their bye. Answerth was the same but hard to know now if it will be worth it. Possible you could move him to the mid line though, if you are fine for coverage there that week.

If you think getting Stewart gives you a 0 on that line, it's probably better to wait. One 0 would normally be OK but that's a bad week for most ruck lines and forwards too.

I actually have Clark too! So I think Stewart is a no go for now.

Its a good point you make in regards to the other lines as well. I’m hoping O’Brien plays that week and I can move him to Grundy after round 13 but I’m not confident he’ll play another 4 weeks in a row.

I have no midfielders missing that week which helps so I was thinking of bringing in Neale instead of Tom Stewart and then moving on Duursma, Moore and then Hore in that order of the following 2-3 weeks.

Before trades this week I have in round 13 playing:

3 (Lloyd, Moore, Hore, Answerth, Clark)
10 (Scott)

1 (Gawn/Bines)
5 (Heeney, Danger, T.Kelly)

So I’d only have 17 on field

If I move Drew to Garner and Walsh to Neale this week that works well for my round 12 and 13 byes from a midfield and defensive stand point as it gets Answerth down to the midfield and Neale in meaning I’d still have 9 mids playing round 13. I can also swap Danger and Dunkley with each other round 12 and 13 which is ideal between the mids and forwards.

That would give me:

4
7
1
6

Giving me 18 players and then hoping to move Moore and or Duursma/Clark/Hore on in the following weeks to hopefully bump it up to
6
7
1
6

My round 12 after Drew + Walsh to Garner + Neale trades would be:
6
8
2
6

Which is perfect.

I would wait, bye planning is critical IMO and this is where you can make big ground and on the flip side lose a lot of ground.

I respect that. My advice (i've been there before plenty of times, perhaps even this year?!), go for players you like rather than begrudging picks.
Thanks for that , I don't mind Blakely , was in my thinking pre-season.

Next 3 upgrades I need to do are :-

Moore (Duursma) - >
Constable - > M Crouch
ROB - > Nic Nat

Walsh may stay at M8 for the duration.

Then if my bench can make any money will look at fixing Kennedy , Westhoff & Darling.

That's the plan

I’m rating him more as a 100-105 avg but with a big injury risk, so maybe PIT90-95....? I probably wouldn’t get him if I rated his scoring upside as only 90-95
I am no expert in how to rate a players scores tbh , I think I will take the punt on him and see what happens.

I might wait a week and then re-assess , that way I get another look at Garner/Hinge as well.

Sicily also looks like he may drop under $ 500k

Morning all, I have Coniglio and M. Crouch on my bench. I need to get Lloyd in but I need probably another F4,5 and 6 or another midfielder.

Backs' Whitfield, Hurn, Salem, Laird, B.Smith, Hoare, LOchart, Answerth.
Midfield; Cripps, Neale, Oliver, Fyfe, M.Crouch, Coniglio, Stack, Gibbons, Hayes, Stocker and B.Scott
Rucks; Gawn, Goldy....Bines
Forwards; Danger, Heeney, T.Kelly, Balta, Petrucelle, Drew, Burgess.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly would be leaving your defence alone - got 2/3 of the must haves (in my opinon).

I'd be going Petrucelle down, Drew up or vice versa - Petrucelle to Young and Drew to Boak potentially?

What’s the JS of Fort like?
I don’t trust Chris Scott one bit.

Thinking ROB —> Fort
Butters —> Dusty

I thought that Fort was much better than Abbott on the weekend (Abbott was awful), but the coaches may see it differently.

Best case scenario is that Abbott goes out for Ratugolea this week and we know that Fort has a small chance of making cash until Stanley comes back.

Ideally it ends up Fort and Stanley as the two rucks but obviously we need some luck for that to occur.

If you had my team and only 15k in the bank this week what would you be doing?
Trade ROB and sub Bines back to RUC to get some cash then pull in a mid out of Merrett, Sloane or Macrae? or grab a defender like Hurn?

Thoughts on going early on one of Oscar Baker or Joe Atley. They're in the price range I need to get my other (extremely dumb) move done trading out Drew or Constable along with Gibbons.

I liked the look of Baker, but his score wasn't great. Thought he might provide some spark that Melbourne have been lacking. Didn't see Atley at all.

I'm thinking
ROB -> best looking named rookie (have enough DPP that it can be any line)
Dursmaa/Drew -> Neale

I don't like paying up for Neale but can't see him dropping much more in the next 4-5 weeks and he suits my bye structure really well.
