Beleaguered Richmond could regain as many as six players for Sunday's date with St Kilda, but a training session on Tuesday will help decide just how many reinforcements are available.

After being on the end of a charmed run for the best part of two years, the Tigers have been ravaged by injuries almost from the get-go this season. The situation reached almost ridiculous proportions ahead of the round 13 game against Adelaide, a match that Richmond entered without eight of their best 22.

The Tigers were gallant against the Crows at Adelaide Oval but still fell to their third consecutive loss, and have subsequently tumbled out of the top eight following their round 14 bye, leaving Richmond with an uphill battle to make the top four and challenge for a second premiership in three seasons.

However it appears that the worst is finally over.

David Astbury, Shane Edwards and captain Trent Cotchin (all hamstring injuries) are likely to be in the selection mix, while Kane Lambert (Achilles), Jayden Short (elbow) and Ivan Soldo (illness) could also return.

"They're all in some sort of contention," Richmond football chief Neil Balme told The Age on Monday.

Balme added that all would need to get through training early in the week before being considered.

Short is the longest-term absentee of that group, having not played since his elbow was dislocated in gruesome fashion during the round three loss to Greater Western Sydney. Because of his extended period on the sidelines, the important rebounding defender might be given a stint in the VFL before returning to the senior side.

Lambert hasn't played since the round nine win against Hawthorn, but is more likely to come straight back in.

Soldo's opening has only come because of an adductor injury to No.1 ruckman Toby Nankervis, sustained in the round eight win over Fremantle in Perth.

But due to suspension and illness, Soldo has been in and out of the team in recent weeks after initially expecting an extended run of games when Nankervis went down.

Soldo's return will be welcomed by the Tigers, who fielded inexperienced pair Noah Balta and Mabior Chol in the ruck against the Crows, with the youngsters copping a hiding from Adelaide big man Reilly O'Brien.

Connor Menadue, Nathan Broad, Dan Butler and Jack Higgins were some of the other Tigers who struggled against Adelaide and loom as potential omissions for the match against the Saints.

Sunday's clash at Marvel Stadium is "Maddie's Match", which raises funds for bone marrow failure research. Richmond comfortably won the corresponding game last year but the Tigers have lost both of their matches at Docklands so far this year - to the Western Bulldogs in round seven and North Melbourne in round 11.

Can Loop Sicily into Logue if Naish is dropped this week.

Or Sicily into Hore and just play Logue outright.

From SEN1116, don't think Hately will get a game when they're considering every other youngster.

GWS' NEAFL coach Adam Schneider has high hopes for promising youngster Ian Hill as he inches closer to an AFL debut.

Hill, 19, was selected by the Giants with pick No.24 in last year’s draft and comes from a family containing strong football pedigree.

The Western Australian is cousins with Fremantle brothers Stephen and Bradley Hill, two-time All-Australian Leon Davis and former Western Bulldog and West Coast forward Josh Hill.

Schneider says Hill’s exciting traits are reminiscent to that of four-time premiership Hawk and North Smith Medallist Cyril Rioli.

“We’ve got a young WA boy – Ian ‘Bobby’ Hill,” he told SEN’s KB and The Doc.

“He’s very, very exciting. He’s coming off a shoulder reconstruction from last year, so he’s put together about five or six games now in the NEAFL.

“He’s a real excitement machine and he’s got a bit of Cyril Rioli about him.”

What's everyone's projected score post trades and team value?

Projected 2,485
Team Value $13,092,900

Curious to see how far behind i am
Projected 2,450
Team Value $12.8M

I have had two scores above 2,200 all season which goes to show those projections are rubbish.

My team before trades;
Lloyd, Hurn, Ryan, Laird, Williams, Hore (Duursma, Answerth)
Kelly, Cripps, Neale, Macrae, Oliver, Gaff, Taranto, Baker (Bewley, Clarke, Scott)
Gawn, Grundy (Bines)
Marshall, Heeney, Dunkley, Daniel, Danger, Kelly (Gardner, Young)

And 6 trades left, 140k or so in the bank.

I'm currently ranked 1,369 and think I'm a great chance of finishing top 1k, but I'm a bit concerned about my trade situation.

I'm considering taking a risk, and trading in Robbie Gray at M8 - I can see my forward bench becoming an issue down the track, and this would give me the swing set to avoid that issue.

Alternatively, Sloane comes in.

Is taking the risk on Gray foolish, or does the idea have merit?

The other option is trading Baker and Hore to Logue and Stewart - moving Duursma to M8 for the swing with Answerth. This gives me 128k and 4 trades left, but in a worse position next week as the midfield upgrade would need to be delayed.

Any feedback would be great!
I kinda like making the best team I can. I think WhitF + Fyfe are your men.

I kind of like the the idea of Hore > Logue gives about $380k all up. But this falls short of straight Baker > Fyfe, but might allow it next week. Perhaps consider placing the E on Clarke seeing if you're happy with it and ride the BE differential on Baker and Fyfe for next week.

There is a risk this doesn't come off and Fyfe scores 180 against Carlton.

Then run Logue at D6 for a bit, and look to upgrade say Bewley/Clarke + Answerth in due course to Whitfield, with Logue moving out to D7.

You could even loop Clarke/Bewley if you're dead set on this approach and willing to risk that rookie M8 score this week.

Then for your second trade see if Jarrod Cameron holds his position with the DPP (I know nothing about him) (with Willie Rioli suspension ending) and trade out Duursma, building your cash. The other better forward (IMO) option is Rose, he played well, should hold his spot for a bit.

This double down should give you playing rookie and donut on each line and enough cash for upgrades at various points.

Alternatively, Clarke spuds it up and you just grab Treloar (my pref) or Sloane for baker now. With one Hore(my pref)/Duursma down to Logue.
Then it's a bit sketchy, for upcoming rookie players from memory beyond JC above... Might just need to ride 2 of Logue/Duursma/Hore for a bit and hope a forward rookie coincides with your injury shuflling out a mid rookie for cash via DPPs.... who knows they might play the season out... as might the rucks bhahahaah!

Robbie gray doesn't cover Daniel or Marshall anyway without a Rookie DPP player, so while it's cover it's still only running a mid rookie as cover for 4/6 players. Rather get a Treloar/Fyfe/Sloane/Zorko type over Gray.
