Biggest concerns: 1) Cripps 2) Taranto 3) Sharp/Fullarton/Scott

I have all of the cheap rookies and all my trades and I'm keen to get rid of Cripps and perhaps Taranto as well

Two options I'm looking at:

A) Cripps & Taranto for Tex and Titch - leaves 87k in the bank
B) Cripps & Fullarton for Jack Bowes and Impey - leaves 6k in the bank

Taranto can turn it around but I'm concerned that after how poor they played yesterday that there's something very wrong with GWS and I don't want two of their midfielders in my side.
You've done well to have pretty much all the right rookies and still all 30 trades. Out of your two options I like option 1 better, potential for quick short term cash and a super premo in Mitchell.

Impey has hardly played as defender in those 123 games, he has a SC friendly role now.
I'm guessing he would have played as a defender in over 80 of those games. He mainly played as a defender for port and hawthorn. Last year he played forward because of his knee? Port experimented with him up forward but he was largely a defender.

never was a rebounding, running half back though

Yeah cheers, not much else to do for me except try to get Impey or Tex as cash cows, they aren't must have players though, especially if I'm not turning one of my poorer rookies into one of them. That being said I think they can also help me improve my side overall.

Tex is definitely not a keeper, just a quick stepping stone who allows me to correct some of the worrying parts of my team. I don't like to wait on these guys and prefer weeding anyone out who I feel uncomfortable with as soon as possible. Cripps looks like he's lost it and is very poorly suited to the new rules, Taranto just like he is in a potentially awful side who will make it harder for him to get back to the 100+ level. At this point in time I'm not convinced that either one is a genuine premium and Titch has already shown that he's not very hampered by his off season injury woes.

If Neale continues to struggle for another week and then picks up and Tex gets to 450K in 3 weeks time, a Tex to Neale trade at a very good price could prove pivotal.

Sorry I should have clarified as a running half back flanker.
Is he now any more so than Hardwick (31 possessions and 15 marks out of nowhere), Morrison, or Day/Scrimshaw (assuming Day might miss a couple injured)?

Cj scored about the same. Don't know if scrimshaw changes the mix. His disposal at port was pretty bad. The rest of his game was fine.

Caldwell - > JordOn via Campbell
Rowell - Ridley via DPP

Lock them in , throw away the key.

Briggs , Clark , Sharp could be risky very soon

Hide Briggs on your defence bench , move Sharp to your mid bench and field Powell.

Nice team
Good idea, yeah after all the rookie round madness forgot how much trouble we are in for defenders

honestly you could just sit tight and save two trades while most of us burn two. But of the two options there I like B

On your problems.
Cripps. Tick, he's a problem.
Taranto, perhaps, averaging 87, started strong, BE okay, perhaps a next round issue?

As you said, Fullerton can go R3. Only really Tracey is a prospect to go in that slot and make money. Also Oscar got a calf/ankle injury in that match, should be safe. Sharp and Scott, well gotta have some donuts somewhere.

As you know, I didn't like the Taranto pick, and it looks more sketchy now, but isn't hurting per say. Tex+Clarry for mine, Bowes+Butters second ($?), Impey 3rd.

Neale, Cripps, and Taranto are all in my Midfield, most likely keeping them all, but like to see a big improvement from all three this week or else, still might off load one them, also have Phillips who doesn’t look SC friendly, definitely one of 4 of mentioned is going

Going to downgrade Heppell to get Warner and upgrade one of the above

Yeah it's a good question, I'm just not sure on either one of those two as midfielders this year. Cripps looks slow and not like himself at the contest and just poorly affected by the lack of stoppages. He can turn it around but is a bit up in the air at this stage as a premium. I reckon and he's worth the trade to a money maker at his current price, he offers no apparent value and isn't going to be a must have. I have the trades available to offload him.

Taranto is cheaper and therefore less clear cut. Taranto has had one good game and one poor game, so on the surface you could say hold onto your premiums and trust that he'll turn it around. I just see the situation he's in as more complex and volatile, especially in my team that also has Kelly. He averaged 102 in 2019 when the Giants were considerably better than they are at the moment, so I'm relying on him getting back to that kind of form and then some to get to the 102+ level.

The Giants looked disinterested and all over the place yesterday and Taranto looked completely disinterested himself after 1/4 time, which I took as a very bad sign. Whilst yesterday he attended more centre bounces with Green omitted, in the first game he attended only 37% (the same number as Kelly and Green) and regularly has Hopper, Coniglio, Ward, JKelly, De Boer (when he tags like he did yeserday) and Green (when he's in the team) to contend with for inside mid time. In the future their could be games where he's not played mostly in the midfield, as was the case late last year and I also wouldn't think he's totally safe from being dropped. His floor is still appearing the same as it was last year. They have midfield depth and that's all at the moment and I don't want to rely on two players from the team, especially two players who will get in the way of each others inside midfield time. I also don't like his ceiling or game style and just regret the pick after I was against him for most of preseason. I got on him on the basis that he was value and kind of ignored all the issues I saw with him, such as poor skill level, lack of ceiling, poor floor from last year.

Yeah definitely the case with Taranto that I can wait an extra week to assess him, definitely feeling some big rage trade urge with him to tell the truth. See my post above for my thoughts on him.

This is what Dow/Taranto > Dusty/Jordon leaves me with...

On-field structure looks really good with solid rooks on ground but the bench gets pretty skinny in parts (missing Powell as you'll see below).

Don't mind the Taranto to Dusty 'upgrade' for less than 100k. Worry about TT's ball use but also feel he's not an urgent sell at his current price.
