Trades at this stage

Pickett out (Budarick >Mid, Brander >Fwd) Doedee Def in
Whitfield out Simpkin in

Still looking at
Jacobs out Pittonet in
I'd be tempted to hang onto Pickett as an F8-9 loop with games coming up against St Kilda and West Coast. Who else is on your defensive line?

Personally I think Pittonet is the right move this week. Doedee did look good on Sunday, but he'll have more trouble with a rampaging Brisbane outfit and will still likely be gettable next week for not too much more, whereas Pittonet will have likely closed most of the gap on Jacobs after this week.

The only thing that would make me wait and see is the situation around Essendon , but if the scheduled game goes ahead then literally everything is set up for Pittonet to have another big game.

Lots of thoughts each way on Neale. I am contemplating bringing him in and I never buy towards the top. waited last year till he came down to $580k from memory.

some issues I see

Lack of fixtures makes it hard to see when that tag is coming.
Port may tag, but let Fyfe roam free yesterday.
Shorter season, cannot play the long game as easy.
Lack of cash generation may argue against chasing a Neale in a short season.
Lack of capt scores elsewhere and other premiums really disappointing.

For someone without Gawn, think o***et cash saved on Pittonet suggests Neale can be justified.

I could chase a Simpkin/Petracca or both with a fourth trade, however, the capt option does double the value of Neale.
Good question If Sutcliffe is an inclusion for Duursma expect him to go to Neale.

Dunkley out for a month
Everyone will jump on Neale or Fyfe now if they can for him.
I would do the opposite and pick Bontempelli,Macrae or Smith even with a potential tag from Hewett to Bontempelli. One of those will get extra midfield time especially when Dunkley had like 19 of 20 CBA.

Anyone have a view on Jackson Hately after last weekend?
I was planning to start him in my MIDs this year, until Leon Cameron didn't pick him for Round 1.
If Kelly misses again (and/or Whitfield for that matter), there's a damn good chance I trade him in.
Partly because I just like him, partly because with the season the way it is I would be trying something that traditionally I wouldn't do (have a midpricer), and partly because it could then help me get Pitto/Naismith in to further help generate cash after I had 3 ESS/MEL rookies not get moving over the weekend, and some other ordinary cows in Sturt, Cameron and McHenry.

Was only inclusion for Kelly so he probably go back out like last year.
Based on GWSs performance as whole, the performance of some of the GWS fringe players, and the performance of Hately himself. Even with Kelly back I can't see them dropping him. He was definitely one of their best in my eyes against the Dogs, by a long way.

Tim Taranto Shoulder 2-4 weeks so you would be lucky he gets a month.

Def is Stewart, Docherty, Howe, Houston, Noble, Brander, Rivers, McAsey
Starcevich is currently in my mids,

Still concern having Green, McInerney, Pickett and McHenry in the mids, I want to switch Budarick into the mids, this is why I’m considering trading Pickett out

Daicos is a better option in my eyes.

He was all the rage last year with everyone waiting for him to start but was always listed as emergency most games. We shouldn't be afraid of a mid priced player this early in the season especially one that can give you points on the field to keep up with everyone else. Hard to keep up with only rookie type scores unless you have a good one.

With Noble and McCasey stalling on cash gen would it perhaps be worth going sideways to Doedee next week?

I can see a path for that move still next week with one of them, or especially if you're also ready to jump off Houston.
