Currently sitting with only $40k in the bank. Whitfield on the bench pending selection this week. Want to keep him regardless of whether or not he plays.

Theres nothing that jumps out to me as an issue, but I'm definitely looking to move on Sturt and not sure what to do about Noble.

A lot of people are looking to upgrade or even double upgrade, but I don't really have the funds for that at this stage. Probably considering going the other way and doubling down:

Sturt > Williamson (through Brander DPP)
Noble/Pickett (if dropped) > Butler

I don't normally like jumping on rookies after no games, but its slim pickings at the moment so might have to roll the dice on Butler. Unfortunately will mean I need to play one of him and T Williamson but I can work through that. Is there something I have potentially missed here?

What has changed in Petracca's game this year to make him so SC-friendly? Having a good look at him but trying to convince myself he will definitely be a keeper.
He is considerably fitter and as a result is a clear CB inside midfielder. Will average 105+ and it’s a gift that he is still priced at 470k. I’d take him this season even if he was mid only.

Whitfield to Simpkin

2nd trade I’m unsure on, only 58k itb. Would like to fix a rookie.
def: Noble Starcevich Rivers Brander
Mid: Pickett, Brown, Bennell Budarick Mcinerney Mchenry
Ruck: Pittonet
FWD: Taylor, King, Sturt, Comben

Sturt the obvious trade out - but for who?

Bit surprised to see so many planning on trading Whitfield out even though it’s sounding likely that he plays this week.

Any reason for this?
Cash flow - he’s my path to Simpkin who looks he could be a keeper at forward. Whitfield looks like he will plummet in cash and bottom out right when I’ll be looking for an upgrade.

I’m just not sure whether trading in/out purely based off price drop (considering he’s already at 537k) is worth it - at $600k, maybe, but seeing the ship has already sailed, is it worth the 2 trades (one out, one back in), if you already know he’s going to be in your final team?

Yep - short-season and all... I fully understand people baulking at keeping Whitfield. I may still even go ahead with it, but at this stage it depends on ins and outs. Think I can avoid a trade of whitfield to get in Simpkins and Doedee and still retain 300k odd in the bank. I took the hit last week, but will have to continue with NicNAt and Pittonet in the trucks over those with Gawndy... very nervous about that considering Gawn has newbie FORT, Pitt has Essendon, Grundy has Jacobs, and NicNat has the twin towers of Port (actually they have three or four options on field, right?).

Edit - GAWN has Geelong, not Carlton - oops

If Naismith picked:
Grundy > Naismith (Gawn R1, Pittonet R2)
Dunkley > Fyfe

If Naismith not picked:
Grundy > Petracca (via Xerri)
Dunkley > Fyfe

Trusting Pittonet to average 100+ and feel he’s wasted at R3 so trading Grundy as a bit of a cash grab. Need Naismith if he’s playing as I think he’ll be as good a cash cow as any.

have you considered 2 premium defenders for Grundy & Noble ?

I haven't, only because the rookies on field in the backline rookies seem more solid than the forward rookies, which is ideally where I would want to be upgrading at the moment

It would also only leave me with just over $1mill to grab 2 premium defenders, not sure I could get the combo I wanted

Considering the same move if Naismith gets picked, would use some of the cash to grab Petracca/Bazlenka this week though

fair enough , once Whitfield returns onfield Bewley & Taylor seem ok to play.

King is averaging close enough to Noble.

Wish I had Grundy , Gawn & Pittonet in my Rucks , would certainly be trading Grundy out to upgrade elsewhere

Yeah I don't actually mind the idea, it does seem like a waste to have Pittonet on the bench (although served me well last round with Gawn missing).

If there was some way I could translate that into maybe 1 Def and 1 Mid/Forward I probably would.

Maybe Grundy/Pickett > Andrews/Simpkin?

with Whitfield losing heaps of coin, combined with concussion, I am thinking moving to Petracca.? Rivers will,be the other trade.
