Pretty sure I'm going to pull the trigger on Campbell to Impey. Just think that Campbells worse is way worse than Impeys, and hopefully he can make it closer to the 430-450 mark... making it easier to upgrade.
Still has a 112 to roll through his scoring, I can see the attraction to Impey but I still think the trade needs to be right.

You can't have everyone.

I'm considering both Bowes and Bunga Hurn for my Young replacement. I see both having a legit shot at finishing as top 6-8 defenders, although competition is obviously super stiff this season on the DEF line. Anyone have a strong opinion either way on those two players?

Unfortunately I don't have the coin to go up to say a Mills for instance who I'd love to own in SC too (already an owner in DT). I also like Cumming as a stepping stone option. However I'm already bringing him in for Young in AFL Fantasy this week so want to diversify my portfolio a little more. Just in case injury or some other misfortune befalls a certain player as it has when it struck me down with Young across all formats this week.

I could also throw $500K at either a MID or FWD instead (via DPP) but no one is really jumping out at me as a top of their line option except maybe Butters. But that would ruin my MID/FWD link which I would prefer to preserve right now. Yes there's Tex too of course but that ship has mostly sailed already. So it seems a little desperate to be jumping on now.

So as it stands right now it's probably either Bowes or Hurn for Young (plus bank) unless I can be persuaded otherwise by the good folk here.

Can see what you mean, but it is also about getting a more consistent performer. Campbell has the 112, but has been pretty low scoring other than that. I guess in my mind i can see Impey getting to low 400ks - even with scores of 60 odd. Means am upgrade is not far off.

Cash generation from the bench rookies looks worrying along with 4 players that did not play last round. To grab Ridley you could restructure in your rucks and trade Gawn to Treacy (if named) which would push Flynn onfield. Your remaining salary would increase to approximately $680,000. Via your dpp links you could trade any of Dow, Bergman or Sharp to Ridley thus benching J Koschitzke and have $200,000 to $300,000 left for next round.

An alternative which would involve keeping Gawn, is trading Butters to Impey allowing Bergman to Cumming/Jiath via your dual position players.
lots have pretty much everyone has not a real good bench cash gen but on only starting rookies so get my drift

I'm still struggling with impey. Decided not to take him last week. Is he worth it this week? I watched him yesterday and he played pretty well. Took some nice intercepts. Got an effective kick every time he ran passed for a handball receive and kicked it slightly to the hawks disadvantage! Fantasia and Fullarton to Impey and Chapman costs me nothing.

I am just going to suck it up with Neale and keep him. It may ruin my year but I am holding now unless he is an LTI. I'm hoping to bank some decent cash cows to make up for the $$ lost from the dodgy premo pick and hope he comes good.

Cahill to Waterman Friday night and then Dow to Chapman later on in the round if there are no surprises. I really like Robertson and if he backs it up against the dogs I should have the money to start upgrade season the week after including a downgrade to him.

Im happy to wait a couple weeks and go one of the mid pricers I have up to Ridley, playing the long game while the more casual coach just burns through their trades with sideways moves, gaining points now is no use if you run out of trades at Round 18.

I don't have Ridley, obviously playing well and will be a top 6 defender, I'm unable to fit him in with my current structure, so he can wait. At his price, he's only going up by $40k max over a couple of rounds before he peaks. So I've missed his points, maybe after the round 7 bye. 😜
