I'm not saying keep or trade but..
I am not sure sucking up a mistake the following week because of a cash drop makes sense if
new information has come to light that shows that it was indeed a mistake not to trade.

For example, I really think I am going to have to eat humble pie and pay the extra 75k for Impey. I am tempted to let him go because of my previous mistake in not recognising great value, but with another weeks worth of info, it does appear that he could well sit at F6 all year if he can average 90 from here so long as those play makers out of the backline continue to get scored so well.

You are welcome, for the extra confusion :p
Confuses my own situation even more😂

@Connoisseur
considering Cumming this week?
Would love to bring him into my side but Clark has and will continue to be serviceable, as well as having the added bonus of being a dual position player. Started Cumming in AFL Fantasy and he has now replaced Clark in AFL RDT in my pursuit of improving my current rank of 7th in that format.

Impey is tempting for sure. Almost the same price as Tex last week and it's tempting to try to replicate how that went.

Thing is, he's either a trade in as keeper (I'm not quite buying a 90 average from here... 80-85 I think sounds realistic?) or a trade in and out to make $150k. Does he hit 3-4 more weeks of 90s to get that cash gain? I think it's 50/50 .
I’m thinking similar. Hard to bank on a 90+ average, think 80-85 average is more realistic. There’s risk he puts up a poor score in the next 3 and he becomes a poor trade in option.

I think the other rookies like Chapman, Waterman, Dev Robertson etc will make more money but Impeys scoring is the big appeal.

What's your team like?
Team name is "Socially Distanced". Structure looks fine - very DEF heavy as that's where the pts/$ is this season with a Grawndy ruck dept. Clark also appears to be a failed pick but no other major issues besides replacing Young this week.

I've actually had a closer look at my byes and I now only have one Rd12 bye keeper in JZ (maybe Impey too??) after trading both Danger and Phillips out (for Dusty and Rids). So that's drawing me in the direction of Bowes or Houston (rather than Hurn) as my Young replacement.

Both fellas have already shown a ceiling this season, have good roles, and so far haven't dished up any poor scores (sub 80) whether their side is winning or losing.

Thoughts on trading Phillips to Impey? I've already used 4 trades.
The question is why are you thinking of trading Phillips? Surely he was picked for a reason. He's Dpp, accumulates and has a high ceiling on occasions. We know his disposal let's him down. If you need the $100k to use elsewhere urgently, then by all means do it. I'm not entirely convinced that Impey is a must have and don't think he'll consistently score 100's. Phillips might be over his bad patch and ready to have a good run now, things can change quickly.

You're probably spot on. I have some confidence that Phillips might turn out an alright selection. It's more to do with not wanting to miss an essential rookie. Impey looks like either a must have rookie or a cheap F6 keeper which is what is scaring me. I don't want to miss out on that.

True, but he is no longer a rookie at that price. Anyway go with your gut and if it doesn't turn out, there's the Rant thread. Good luck

Sidebottom > Ridley.

Hate sideways trading a premium but I've had enough of Sidebottom. Barely playing any on-ball minutes and looks off the pace. Will probably drop close to $150k over the next few weeks the way he's going. Watch him score 130 this week.

Contemplating a Jelly to Walsh sideways considering Jelly as a forward is not going to score well enough, but probably wont do it. Surely with their injuries in the midfield he gets an on ball role this week. Jelly in only 6% of teams is becoming a negative pod in the midfield through no fault of his own.

Didn’t attend a single center bounce on the weekend. Role is a concern but i think we are seeing his scoring floor and he still has huge upside. Reckon he needs at least another week or two to properly assess.

It’s annoying but I haven’t considered trading Jelly out - been burnt too many times by premos turning it around and wasting the trade. I had a look back through my history and I’ve never used so many trades this early in a normal year 😳. Maybe last year has given us the trading bug.

It's concerning that even after De Boer and Coniglio went off injured he still didn't get moved into the midfield. 2 first half goals elevated his score. Hopefully some of their forwards like Riccardi and Finlayson return this week or in the near future as it would be crazy to think that they would persist with him playing this role specifically with their injuries now.
