Question is you need to bring him in this week for the cash generation, otherwise you miss out on $70k approx. We may not know about Jacobs injury until next week.
They reckon he’ll be re-evaluated in the next 48 hours, so we’ll potentially have something a bit more definitive then.

“Sam will be re-evaluated by club specialists over the next 48 hours and we will provide updates as to his management plan as the Club’s medical team works through all options available.”

Z Williams to Rocky anyone? :sneaky::sneaky::sneaky: I'll hold but a bit worried if Williams is a keeper (Rocky probably won't be either).

If Jacobs is out for a sustained period, surely anyone considering Marshall at $406k should be having a very good look at ROB for $137k.

Same age, same average in their last AFL season, same weight and basically same height and rookie draft picks.

I did suggest this as an option, without necessarily advocating for it, a day or two ago.

I think you need to think Rocky is at least as likely to be a keeper, or be sure that Williams isn't, for it to be worthwhile.

That is correct...I'll have Moore & Drew at F5/6 with Balta & Bines on the bench.

IF we get news that Jacobs requires surgery before the weekend, then I may consider a more aggressive, albeit risky path for ROB.
Same for me if ROB comes in Moore and Drew F5 and F6 and Balta and Bines on the bench (yuck - not great cover if anyone gets injured).

Parker out for Marshall (F4) and Setterfield up to M11 also part of that.

I’m on the ROB bandwagon too. Even if ROB only gets 2-3 games in a row, he’ll make some decent cash.

Thinking either Setters or Gibbons to him, most likely Gibbons as Setters’ DPP is handy for loopholing this round.

Balta to Marshall last round has set up my side well structurally :) Yet to be seen how it works out long term

Agree Darkie. I think if Rocky is a keeper who averages 110+ and Williams is stuck on an 85 avg for the rest of the year its a genius move in the short and long term but that's a big "if". It's still very possible that Williams averages 95+ and is a keeper and Rocky gets injured fairly soon. In my case I already have Fyfe and Libba so this would be a kind of madness. It exposes the defence too much as well I would say because you'd likely be sending Moore back and running 3 rookies on top of that (I would at least).

We're coming to the end for the time for these types of sideways trades and I've already made two and I'll probably leave it at that. Looks like a lot of rookie trades could be required for us to get to full premo this year so it's probably best to hold on and not trade guys who can be top 8 in their position for short term gain.

Someone please talk to me about the love for Marshall ... yep I get that Longer may never return but what does he do around the ground having not watched any of their games yet ..

Upcoming ruck draw reads: Gawn, Jabobs / ROB, Mummy, WCE, Grundy, Kruezer ??, Ryder / Lycett ...

At the minute, I'm seriously considering bringing both these players in. Marshall appears to be about the best choice under $450K as a FWD, and from how I read it, Jacobs is likely missing at least half the season, ROB should make at least $200K if he stays fit. Would be good to have stronger confirmation on Sauce first, but may as well risk it. My team is rubbish this year anyway.

To put it nicely he's competitive, no superstar, but gets his 15 to 20 touches, 25 plus hitouts, a few of those to advantage, tackles, marks kicks goals and has the body size to match it with most rucks. Seems pretty good and is consistent.

I’ve been talking about tradin sheed all week
And I’ve looked down back and at the same price pretty much and at a 20 point lower average is Williams

Really don’t think he can pull together n average of 90+ this season

Williams to Boak via Moore be a smart trade?

Boak is gonna be top 6 forward no doubt

One thing to note also is his incredibly high DE over the past 3 weeks.

Buyers should be aware that this may not continue:

15 touches (13 contested, 13 effective)
16 touches (10 contested, 11 effective)
17 touches (9 contested, 15 effective)

Overall 81.25% DE with 66.67% being contested as well. Can this continue?

My biggest worry is CD seem to score heavily on DE if that dropped down he could drop down to an 80’s scorer pretty quickly.

Just something to keep in mind.
