Day throws a spanner in the works. I don’t want zero defensive cover.
Looking like my trades will be Brander/ Starcevich out and Premo/ Day in. This means sacrificing Simpson who was very impressive. Not sure how sustainable it is, with Duncan and Narkle both going down early. Would love to have him but I reckon I’d prefer the cover rather than the cash
Day and Simpson passed the eye and scoring test...they look too good to pass up. Plenty in the bank then for a double upgrade the next week.
The big decision for me is do i ride out Ceglar or boot him...obviously i want to boot him like any owner would. I think the sensible decision is to ride it out unless he gets dropped. He is capable of 100 plus scores this season so I don't want to lock in a loss if I have enough cash to upgrade around him.
Think Simpson is a lock , Day is probably better balance short/medium term for my team than Aarts (this round) so will mean delaying bringing in a premium defender.
Now just hope McPherson , Rankine , Stephens , Stoddart , Warner don't all go 90+ and prove must haves as well.
Brown - > Simpson
Starcevich - > Day
monitor Hurn , Ryan , Short or wait for Stewart & Zac Attack
Bailey Smith , Bont & Duncan all in the target list
At this stage add me to the Starcevich and Ceglar to Day and Simpson group.
Almost dropped Ceglar this week, replaced Naismith instead as Ceglar was actually playing. He is well out of form, as is most of the team. Yes he could potentially turn it around, but barring higher priorities that will likely show up, he has to go.
Day looked very impressive but the Hawks don't have a great track record in giving their rookies an extended run of games. When is Scrimshaw supposed to be back from injury?
