Ended up trading in Soldo as a stop gap instead of Gawn.

Just can’t see that form as being sustainable and couldn’t justify the asking price with some excellent value options on other lines.

Can’t imagine there will be many with Soldo.

Nice trade , I looked at Soldo and Chol myself along with Jacobs as stepping stones.

Have the money to go direct from Pittonet to Gawn but would leave me with 4 onfield rookies for the rest of the season averaging around 50-60.

Think I will back myself to find 5 premiums that each can go 80+ to make up the difference if Gawn stays at 150 average (doubt he does).

Miss out on Gawn as a captain option but it is what it is.

I appreciate all your help, also @Herbie66, it gives me motivation to dig deeper.

In summary, Houston will play midfield, unless he is required in defence, where he scored poorly,
BUT Houston can score well playing in Def (FanFooty Houston played in Defence in Rd5 117 SCpts and Rd6 109 SCpts).

Rd2 60 SCpts PTA thrashed ADE, he played in Defence
Rd3 73 SCpts PTA easy winners vs FRE, played in Defence.
Rd7 107 SCpts close game, PTA 3 pts winners vs CAR, played Midfield (I don't know what ".....heat map....played def between 4 and 5......" means?)

I'm not a stats person, but looking at the stats below, I see a pattern. Houston scored poorly when PTA won easily in Rds 1, 2, 3 & 4. and he scored well when PTA had close games and lost game, regadless if Houston played Mid or Def.
PTA next games are; STK, MEL, RIC and GEE, they don't look like easy games to me.

I still have to give it some thought to trade Houston in or not?

Berni - to clarify an earlier comment, I think Houston played def in round 4 and round 5. This is looking at the heat map. System says he had 88% and 83% of possessions in the defensive half in those rounds. In round 6 it was 75% and round 7 it was 47%, however, round 6 his red heat map is between half back and wing rather than in the defence area.

Fanfooty pre loads positions in and doesn't always change them. Houston playing mids although defensive side would come up as defence still, yet the role can be different when he is in defence.

I choose him earlier in the year due to last years number where his mid games (last 4) were well above his def games.

I think Rocky out helps Houston as he becomes a more important connection player, bit like a Brodie Smith. Another player I had.

Have learnt (now) to back in fwds who go into the mids that are contested players (Greenwood, Petrock, Dunkley) rather than less contested beasts (Houston, Wingard, Smith).

They’ve played Brooksby over him this week so I’m not convinced his short term opportunities look great. Time to move him on I reckon.
Is he fit to play? I thought he was out with a broken toe?

I think you're right, have trades to burn so might just move him on, will make my team more enjoyable to look at if anything.
