At this stage I'm rolling with R1 Jacobs and R2 Naismith.
Have tried many combinations but this one allows me to make a slight sacrifice in 2 players for a significant gain in 4 other players (maybe even 5 if I don't keep much itb).
Feels a bit counter-intuitive and even irrational, but maybe this is the year for it.
Nonetheless, still more games to watch and round one team-sheets will be a big factor.

when grundy pumps out 160 and gawn pumps out 180 in the same week you will be catching your tail. even worse you won’t have the captain on them.
it will be a long year if you don’t start them

just a slight sacrifice you think?
the pressure is on to really nail those 4 new picks.

It would be interesting to see the gain in those 4 other players and who they are though if it was a simple swap from Grundy & Gawn to Jacobs & Naismith.

So do we need to reset this thread after half a game of footy from Max Gawn tonight?

Remember, many were saying he'd start the season slow due to his injury let alone smash a pre-season half game out but hey, we've got another two weeks to reset structures if need be.

Gawn tonight is swaying me towards just picking him!

For those who want to run Naismith at R2 but have some insurance with Ceglar in the forward line, could just plonking Ceglar at R2 be a better option? I guess we will know more on Monday.

Hopefully he helps Box Hill win a flag.

Makes Ceglar a less attractive option if they decide to play him as a second ruck. Fairly sure he is just backup, but who knows.
Spewen hes gone from my SANFL side but good to see him on another list

Keep in mind that Ceglar rucked against Gawn for 1/4 of the game and an 18 yr old for the rest. I reckon we just saw his ceiling
I think he’s been okay, got plenty of clearances. Was on 30 against Gawn at HT which is normal for every ruck. I’d expect him to average in the low 90s and hopefully some more point for the byes. He’s probably waited his entire career for this role and now he’s got it.

On Gawn, my issue is we have no effin rookies. All the forward rookies will average 40 and were losing base price def rookies every game. So running naismith there, paired with Ceglar, allows us to use Gawn money to get Devon and 2-3 expensive rookies. If I’m running Gawn I’d need to give up M5 or Whitfield

Currently got Xerri/Cameron at r2 with Ceglar in the forward line. Feel like Ceglar at worst should average 85, but will more likely average 90+ which would be great to have at F7/R3, or decent at F6 if the season doesn't go great
