Testing out different combinations is by far the most enjoyable part of the season.

No Neale, Heeney, Gawn and Lloyd along with no remaining salary.
Have been messing around with getting Taranto in at M6 and having the same 5 forwards as you have (I'm not as deep in the backline). I think I prefer having Heeney in the forward line to Taranto in midfield because he will likely score very close to Taranto and finish as a higher scorer relative to the rest of those in his position.

Taranto over a 110+ mid will cost you a bit later in the year, and I think he averages about 100, which is a bit under what I'd be after at his price. I could look at starting both though.

Ballsy team but....

1 premo deep to many for me in defence... limits your options to see who will be top 6 and may burn a trade or two

Your forward line is a disaster waiting to happen IMO. I would bring in atleast 2 proven premos. There are a lot of mid priced eye candy but many will rot your season.

I have gone back to the drawing board and I have returned triumphant with this insanity: View attachment 25491

13 keepers, $0 in the bank, practically $0 rookie spend. Guns and Rookies to the most insane degree. William Phillips is sacrificed on the altar of perfection.
Like you said '0' rookie spend. All you'd have to do is drop one of the 650k mids down to a Rowell/Taranto to free up some cash for those more eccy rookies.

Is the appeal with Daniher generally due to his starting price ?

15 games in the last 3 seasons screams problem just waiting to happen.

I guess the first sign of trouble he could be a downgrade to a rookie.

2014 = 59.1
2015 = 60.7
2016 = 68.8
2017 = 86.0

will need to find my little piece of paper again to work out what he needs to average to increase by $ 125-150k.

Think I prefer Brown or Ziebell to be honest.

I guess it might come down to what forward rookies are named Round 1.

I've actually had him the last two years and he has slaughtered me but he is apparantly fit now.
If he is picked I think you have to pick him at that price.
The Brisbane midfield will feed him well compared to Essendon's.

As far as I'm concerned 'Price' is the only reason for consideration

Also Melbourne seemed to have some trouble cleanly delivering the ball to the forwards last season from memory

Can't justify picking Gawn , as not playing him allows me much more flexibility.

The thing that stands out to me about this team is...

... that you need to charge your phone. 11%? That won't last long.

Seriously, there's a few too many risky selections for me, but it could work. I've seen most of the names you have chosen in multiple teams, just not all of them in one.

Can’t justify starting Gawn, which I can accept. But curious to know how you then justify starting Neale?
I want to pick one of Neale and Gawn.
Neale has a easy early fixture with no tight taggers that I know of.
Preuss represents value as the main ruckman at GWS @$300,000.He will hopefully go up to $500,000 making the trade to Gawn a lot easier.
There is no equivalent midfield player around the $300,000 that will make money, Heppell is still not 100%.
So Neale over Gawn so I can extract value from Preuss is my answer.

Which risky players do you not recommend?

Be interesting to see people's expectations of him.

If he can string 6-8 games together and score well enough then maybe he does make enough $$$ to become a easy upgrade.

I guess depending on rookies can already see Marshall + Brown/Daniher/Impey/Ziebell combination being popular , maybe with or without Heeney as well.

Interesting to see Hipwood has gone 72.8 , 54.1 , 51.9 , 49.0 over the last 4 seasons (most recent first)
