This will probably get lost again, but I updated the first post of this thread with the most popular SC Gold players as of the 7/2/16 :)
Hey PC,
I'm being lazy, but I wonder which of the expensive players in each line have the lowest ownership?!

Boomer interests me with their early draw in particular. Could start very well in some one sided matches.

I've got Blakely as a place holder, have read good things and I think most will steer clear because of his price. Could be a good POD rookie if he can get games.

Pretty hard to have a POD rookie if they perform in NAB. Herald Sun will tell everyone who to pick.

Lol true, he apparently blitzed today as well so no doubt will start picking up in popularity.

I'm sure I've skipped a few here or there that might pose some interest somewhere. But then again, I'm sure there are several in the above lists with practically ZERO interest anyway.

I thought T Mitchell would be a lot more popular - I feel I must be missing something obvious  - Rowsus has him as a breakout contender, what are people's thoughts on him?

Nathan has T Mitchell in the 2% mids and TBO has S Mitchell:confused:

Would have thought Titchell would have been more than 2% but if correct I am not unhappy as I have him under consideration at the moment.

I actually have 3 players on TBO's list, maybe I should be worried! :(

3 for me too.
TBH, I think if your team features prominantly on the most popular lists, you are chasing last years points and ruling your self out.

For me, yes and no. Players are popular for a reason and normally a good reason - be that value, history, change in role, dpp etc.

While the game is won in your trades and there is merit in selecting one or two players that may be big PODs, nailing your start team (prems and rookies) and not falling behind the masses who all use the popular players is pretty essential imo.

Agree with this. Prior years there was an analysis putting a team together using the popular team based on coaches picks and trades used every week based on popular choices (think it was Dream Team) and it performed solidly. Think it finished ranked 4000-5000.

1 PetRocka - 55%
2 Kerridge - 45%
3 Chopsticks - 39%
