M Van Gerwen (C), G Price and R Cross
N Aspinall, G Anderson (VC), D Van Duijvenbode, A Gilding, A Lewis, D Van den Bergh, C Dobey, A Gawlas and K Sedlacek

Hedging Aspinall Vs Duijvenbode rather than trying to pick the winner of Evetts VS Burnett. Dobey and Van den Bergh unlucky not to receive the captaincy duty as I have opted for the boring option of MVG.
R Cross, A Gilding and M Van Gerwen selected again for the final section and all available for the bonus. Have decided not to captain Van Gerwen and was a very tough decision between Cross and Gilding. Opted for Cross in the end but really want to see Gilding win his first major. Went very close in the 2015 edition of the UK Open losing to MVG 8-10 with a 108 avg and hopefully he has an opportunity to exact revenge on MVG in the semi or final.

UK Open Final Results
Andrew Gilding is the new world #25 after winning his first TV title 11-10 over MvG. @KLo30 and @Connoisseur are the first recipients of the new bonus structure points on offer, gaining a very valuable 25 on top of the 19 Gilding accumulated throughout the day. Those points ensured @Connoisseur snatched the 10 position from @tso at the death, and saw @KLo30 rise up the table on the final day after a slowish start to this event.
@tso moves into the competition lead, with @Connoisseur and @Professor filling the podium positions.
Premier league action continues over Friday mornings. Our next event is then the World Cup teams event in June.

MvG killed me in this tournament, both by scoring well and eliminating my players. Should have just picked him as the form player leading in, but that's not my style. That's probably why I'm near the bottom of the table too. :ROFLMAO:

Good win from Gilding, glad to see a different winner for a change.

Have a well earned rest @The Banker, you deserve it. That would have been painful having to update so many scores.

Day 1 was the killer. Working whilst the second session of day 1 was on was just stupid (I committed and then realised after the fact that it was the opening day of the UK - won't be happening again). Not to mention I stayed up all night doing the scoring of session 1:ROFLMAO:

Anyways, it's done now and it only gets easier for the rest of the competition from here.

That's been the beauty of the past 13 months since the competition started. We are all following it that little bit more closely and have seen some great wins along the way.

Cullen and Dobey at the Masters. Ross Smith with the Euro. Michael Smith getting the monkey off the back at the Grand Slam which then set the tone for his World Champ win. And now Gilding.

All whilst MvG has really dominated form the whole time, winning 3 times himself (I think), but easily being the most consistent player over the competition.

Fantasy sports isn't all about winning. It helps keep a vested interest in sports. Despite having only 10 participants, this competition is thriving imo, similar to the game of darts itself.
