Good call, I was actually just pondering this (may make for some interesting live trades during the draft too!).
Perhaps the auction could be done via a Google sheet or similar if it had to be? Winning bid = second bid + $1k, put your best foot forward kind of thing? I think the main challenge would be balancing lists (eg you wouldn’t want five rucks!).

TBH, I would prefer that we could lock in a night for the auction to be live.
The only night I'm out is every Friday night due to other commitments.
Happy for the draft to be done off-line or however you want to do it, but I just think the auction is better live, whenever it is done.
Happy to be over-ruled if a suitable date can not be found, but would prefer the auction be a live event.

I flagged last year that I had developed an ebay style Auction Draft. This was rejected. It would have mimiced the AFL trade and signing period in many ways, and provided another layer to the competion. It's way to late to set this up.
Slow Draft has been rejected. Teams just need to find a way to participate.
Has to be done by R0 as fixture will be dependent on those games.
Tim has put together early round scenario for SCKLwhich requires R0 due to the byes across the much of the first 6 weeks. As much as I would like to ignore R0 for SCSUL, what he has put is the best we can do and keep it at 22 players counting per round.

OFFICIAL LTI LIST NOMINATION
The Goodie's Giants FC can confirm that midfielder/forward Bailey Smith has suffered an ACL injury during a recent training session.
The 23-year-old left the track midway through the session, with scans confirming the extent of the injury to his knee.
“We’re all extremely disappointed for Bailey, and empathise with him greatly,” Giants’ Executive Director of Football, Tim Goodman said.
“The entire Club will rally around him during this difficult time, as he begins his rehab journey.”
The Club will provide a further update in due course.
With this, The Giants officially nominate to move Smith to the LTI List for season 2024.
