Reminder with the Bye rounds upon us again, that notes are king. Plenty of different approaches by different coaches, pick one that suits and is clear.

Fortunately I know what Bevo is doing with Macrae and Daniel early this round which makes the split round less frustrating. So hard to predict teams for next round and where players will be picked, so have just locked in team and will just hope for the best!

@KLo30 can I check please - are we allowed to (ie is it effective to) add a team selection note along the lines of starting subs being replaced/demoted to the bottom of the selection order?

I typically do it, and have noticed that a couple of other coaches do too. I just wanted to check if it is acceptable.

I honestly never adjust teams due to starting subs. I don't look at that and don't know how I could reasonably be expected to remember subs for a team that I don't manage.

Is it more that it’s an admin hassle, or is it your view that coaches shouldn’t be able to switch out starting subs?

If it’s the former, perhaps affected coaches could flag that their player has been a starting sub, say before the round concludes (final siren).

If it’s the latter, I guess it’s just owner beware!

Short answer: It's a combination of both. We developed the rules based around a set and forget scenario, once final teams were named Friday. At no time has there been a discussion around subs being replaced. It's just the luck of the draw, much like injuries.
