Goodie's Giants FC - Media Release
There's been some big news coming out of Goodman Football Group HQ today, as Goodie's Giants FC have completed two blockbuster trades with the Jabukanji Stingers in the hope of playing SCSUL finals football. In two seperate deals The Giants obtained inform key defender Steven May and workhorse midfielder Ed Curnow, both signing one year deals with the club. Youngsters Ely Smith and Tom Sparrow depart to the youthful Stingers, where they'll look to establish themselves under the watchful eye of coach Ken Lockhart.
Shortly after the deals were finalised coach Tim Goodman had the following to say to Giants Media.
"We are he was pleased to make two quality additions to our squad prior to the upcoming trade deadline. Both Steven and Ed are experienced campaigners who will bring a lot to our club both on and off field."
"With Jamie MacMillan heading home for the birth of his kid we felt it was imperative that we added another experienced head back there."
"We've lacked midfield depth all year with Luke Dunstan going down early, so to get Ed into our engine room will free up Bailey Smith or James Rowbottom to drift back forward."
"I'd like to wish both Ely and Tom all the best. We believe they both have big futures ahead of them and it's a shame to see them move on"
In team news, Goodman revealed that Nick Vlastuin would return to the side this week after missing the game against the Dagobah Immortals with a calf complaint. Youngster Will Hamill is expected to be omitted following his debut for the club last weekend, opening the door for Steven May, whilst Goodman was tight lipped on who would play as the second ruck behind skipper Brodie Grundy, with Tom Bellchambers, Sam Draper and Darcy Cameron all vying for the role.
